Should I go see skream tonight?

Post by ENNO » Wed Dec 21, 2011 5:20 pm

So, skream is playing Dublin, never seen the chap before. Im debating whether or not I should go. I know for a fact thats its gonna be up the walls with body's and that really isn't my thing, I also feel he's gonna be playing a lot of his more commercial/vocal tunes like anticipate, which also isn't my thing. im more of a fan of his other style of tunes like phatty drummer and abstruse. Anyone been to see him recently, know what his sets are like ect?

Also, tickets are 20 quid a head : /

Well, think about it like this.

What would make you feel worse:
1. You go and he plays brostep?
2. You don't go and find out he plays the deeper/darker stuff?

Never regret the things you do, only those you do not.

Last time I saw Skream in a club filled with 150 people tops was 2009 and that was ace! He went b2b with Hijak, Benga and Mala. :) I want to keep that memory of Skream in my bank the way it is. If you haven't seen him, I suggest you do cos you won't know what he has under his sleeves.

Is this in the Twisted Pepper? If so get there early and it's free in before 10pm at least that's the story at the weekend anyway

I would put money on you not going. I think you're just looking for an excuse.

unless you just have some alternative stupidly-crazy amazing night planned then one would assume that skream will probably be the best option

I'm never hugely over-impressed with his sets considering hes one of the best producers in the game and always will be. But he plays a good set, i've seen him about 6 times or so, i'll continue to see him.

If the choice is Skream or nothing, Skream obviously wins everytime. Even debating about it is stupid.

Only saw him once, when I was in Amsterdam. Sucked and I have no intention of seeing in the future, unless it claims that it's a certain set, like the one he did which was for 2006 or something?

Had I known Vivek was doing a 2 hour set next door, I would of went there.

Skream - "Just played an extremely random set in Dublin 04-06 dub step, moombahton, electro, tear out, dnb, drum step and grime....."

if you went, nice one.
if you didnt, bet you're regretting it?

Just back from the gig. It was ok. Ive seen much better sets. Pokes was on the ball, kept the crowd moving, but i didnt really feel the whole skirllex, bass cannon vip ect. Skream got on the mic half an hour before the end and said "This is the educational part of my set" and start playing some Loefah and warrior queen ect...this lasted for about 15 minutes, then we where back into the bouncy stuff. That was the highlight of the set for me.

I dunno, I just wasnt feeling the set, mixing was on point, but the track selection wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe im just being too picky because the last dubstep act i seen at that venue was yunx.

Overall, glad I went, I can now say i saw skream. I wont be in any rush to see him in the future though. Appreciate the genuine input in this thread. Chuuurs fellas!!!
