My bass is jittering?

Post by MrAural » Wed Dec 21, 2011 9:35 pm

Hey. So I've been working on this tune recently...

Soundcloud

When it comes to making it in FL Studio and Massive (for the bass) the bass literally just jitters. Everything else is fine.

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

is this mono? (listening on laptop, no headphpones at) could be comb filtering/phase cancellations due to summing*.

what bit resolution/sample rate did you bounce to? could be bad downsampling*.

*all unless i'm mistaken, of course. (:

I have the same problem, I think it's just a problem within the program... normally should be fixed on export. Probably due to FL Studio playing in a lower bitrate to reduce latency and whatnot.
...in my opinion

Yeah, it works fine upon exporting, its just a real pain in the ass when actually producing, but thanks. I'm gonna try to see if I can change the bitrate now.

EDIT: How do I go about doing this?

Probably in the audio settings. Couldn't tell you for sure though because I still haven't tried to fix it.

It most likely buffer underruns, and is not a problem with the program, it's you abusing your poor CPU.

Edit: turning up your latency can help, also bouncing stuff down, but both come with their cost.

theres a difference between within and with. I didn't say that the program has problems. I was saying that it should only be a problem when playing back within the DAW vs. on a WAV. Difference :K:
