Yeah I actually don't like the original all that much to be honest. Its a little too subdued to me, sure the bass is massive but there's not a whole lot else going on. The VIP BANGS.

Its become quite rare, unfortunately and mine arrived kind of wonky when it was new (noticeable wobble when playing) and now after all these years that I have rinsed it it is showing its age.

And no digital either, I had (still have somewhere) a personally made vinyl rip of it before I got the original, it kind of sounds flat, though. I even tried to get the TP on Youngsta's show back then.

But, yeah the VIP is the one, but then I've never even heard the original on anything other than my hi-fi, so...

all about the bassline. no need for much more if you have a big bass sitting there.

Horrorshow doesn't really help prove your point to me, it has more going on in it than Badman. There's a tension that's constantly building in it, the atmospherics are amazing and there's so many subtleties hidden in it. I just think Badman lacks that, which is strange cos atmospherics and subtleties are what I normally love about KM. Case in point:

I just think Badman lacks energy, dynamics, atmosphere and style, I can't understand why people consider it one of the best KM tracks. Plus, having heard the VIP (which I love), I have absolutely no desire to listen to the original.

^^ to each his own i guess... badman/distant is one of my most cherished records... to me its dynamic, is full of energy, and builds a tense atmosphere (cmon that sample is badman) before releasing a unique style even in comparison to other KM tunes...

i like badman because of the mental picture the sample in the beginning paints in my mind. song is awesome to boot.

lol i bagged the last one that was up last week :)

I think its rare simply for the fact that they didn't press many and anyone who has it,loves it and don't want to sell. And obv cause there's no digital, all obvious reasons but i thought id state them anyway!

also because the chances of it getting a repress are so small since swamp81 has moved away from this sound significantly, same goes for one of us/six degrees
