Plastic People. Thoughts?

Post by dubloke » Fri Dec 23, 2011 2:41 pm

I hate coming on the internet and bitching but I cant believe how much it has changed!
£7 to get in! I swear it used to be about £3-4?
The system was crisp but really quiet, me and my mate could talk to each other barely having to raise our voices.
I wasn't allowed to leave and come back to get money out.
£4 for a small bottle of Stella and a 40p charge meant I got 2 small bottles out of a tenner!!
Bare people with there i phone torches on constantly lighting the room up and one guy was shining it in peoples eyes on purpose. (I can understand if you don't smoke and haven't got a lighter for a big track but this was pretty much constant light)
not really liking the new room set up (but I can understand why they did it, must have been a nightmare as a DJ to get to the booth when it was packed before)

However redeeming features were that it was still really dark, pretty much pitch black (when peoples phones were off)
Youngstas set was amazing
The system got louder (but not loud enough)

Sort of wish I hadn't gone to forward last night, its tainted my memories of some really good nights at a place that pretty much got me into dubstep. Youngstas set was fucking sick though which saved the night for me

went last night ... previously went about a month ago (skream old set) ... last night, the system sounded the best that i've heard since the refit - i.e. crisp again - though still not as powerful as before ...

there's significantly more power if you stand as near as possible to the (left or right) back speaker ... i wouldn't want people to fight for the ideal spot, i'm just saying :) ...

people flashing phones about: my impression is (a) there's more of that everywhere now (b) there happened to be more of it last night than usual.

i've only been going in the last year or so, so i can't compare with further back ...

If I remember correctly it was already £7 entry a few years ago. Don't remember paying less than £5

were the people shining lights in faces security?

there was a whole lot of that when i last went, but that was a while ago. and along with queuing for time, having to declare everything in my pockets, having my rizla confiscated, queuing to get to a smoking area (smoking area what... i thought we were allowed to go to the off license for a quick beer and a smoke :( ) and brutish brainless bouncers (compared to what used to be some of the best venue security in london imo) i generally didnt enjoy the night.

i dunno if i really want to go again, all ive heard is pretty bad things. a great line up might come along but that just means less room to dance tbh.

Nah the Macbeth pub just down up the road ended up back there until about 3.30 and then got lost trying to find liverpool street station to get the N11 home, took a good hour and a half on the bus!

I swear it was cheaper than £7. We used to go every week & get there before the doors opened most of time. The price might go up after after a certain time?

This has put me off going back there for sure. Dont wanna ruin all the wicked memories I have of FWD
