Anyone using an iPad / Touch Touch tablets for Production?
Just curoius if anyone is getting a lot of use out of the new APPS and software like TouchOSC, TouchAble, and other programs.
What programs do you use?
Do you use it a lot?
Any cool programs we havent heard of?
How was interfacing with your DAW?
I have been really wanting an iPad 2 but havent bit the bullet yet...

I think producing on an iPad is a bit of a gimmick.

use TouchOSC onstage and in the studio all the time.

Im not sold on the idea of tablets at all tbh you could pick up a quality desktop or lappy for the price. Is it really worth all that money for a touchscreen?

i want an Android tablet sooo bad. There are a bunch of synth apps you can pick up on the android market.. don't know if I would use them for production (mainly because it would be a chore for me to get those sounds into my DAW) but it's probably a cool way to discover new sounds and sharpen your synthesis game while sittin around on a bus or something. plus the midi control offered through touchOSC and fingerplay make tabs a pretty cool way to control ur DAW. Also its just cool to have a tablet you can do tablety stuff with

yeah look into the apps on the android anne droid
theres different tools on that, i seen one where u can control all your mixers and a bit of piano roll etc with 1 app.
i think apple has more to offer though like splashtop (fluent way of adding a second monitor & very high FPS on your ipad/iphone, good for frequency analysers on a seperate screen)
looking around for an app that sounds like you would make use of is worth looking into i guess.
i personally prefer using a mouse and keyboard etc as its just gets the job done quicker for me.

Contrary to my earlier statement, they just came out with an iPad app that controls Ableton, and it's actually supposed to be very good, having all the aspects of Ableton at your fingertips in a mobile friendly fashion.

my buddy has a korg kaoscillator app on his ipad and it's pretty cool. i haven't really played with it and gotten deep but i've listened to other people on it and even recorded them just fucking around and some pretty cool sounds come out of it. not really for making a song and i wouldn't even really want to use a sound from it as a main sound but it's fun
