Darkstar Appreciation Thread

Post by DJDM » Wed Dec 28, 2011 7:18 pm

These guys are severly underrated. Need You / Squeeze My Lime, Break, Aidy's Girl Is a Computer, they always bring the bacon. Can't say I'm a big fan of North, and I hope they go back to their old ways soon. What do you think? I can't give them enough credit. Big ups Darkstar.

Edit: Don't know what I was thinking, North is a masterpiece :Q:

Liked their early twelves, but can't say i'm a fan of the synthpop stuff they put out on North. Not exactly the most original stuff, either; "Gold" was a cover, "North" was a straight ripoff of Portishead's "Machine Gun"...hoping they go back to their old ways, or at least do something different for the next release.
If this is the future, it seems highly livable: shiny, cool and comfortably dissonant. Like a low dose of ketamine in an empty, luminous airport hall in northern Japan, eating avocado and waiting for the universe to arrive.

that's what i was asking myself, too. hahah

but i should probably look into North again, I think.. i only listened to the samples of 2 or 3 songs, and they were mostly beatless, which isn't my thing...

listen to the album, if you have a heart, or perhaps kidneys, you will enjoy it.

Two chords is genius.
Once there was a whale, the whale walked to the grocery shop.
The whale said : i want patatoes. The girl said: we aint got no patatoes.
The whale walked away. -Burial.

I'd probably put Need You in my top 10 dubstep tracks, 2:52 is proper goosebumps business.

Yeah big up Jesus for dying for our sins and netting us a public holiday in the process.

Also, hot cross buns.
