Don't know what you're all bitching about so much, have you actually read the article?

It's MTV talking about dubstep that got mainstream in 2011 (although I would say what they term 'dubstep' doesn't really fit with what I'd generally call dubstep, even skrillex says that he doesn't make dubstep), what do you expect the article to say?- some in-depth history of ghost records and big apple? ....can't really see innacuracies or anything suggesting ignorance about more underground dubstep or the roots of dubstep -it's not an article about that.

Waren't Craig David all up on 2-step before he even got big?

Not a bad tune, tbh.

As if to underscore a point: late this week, druggy Toronto R&B singer The Weeknd dropped a new mixtape, which featured a dubstep-infused cover of Michael Jackson’s “Dirty Diana.” It doesn’t get much more pop than that.

thats' a good summation of dubstep in the state in 2011; no surprise, really, as Julianne, the author, was an editor at the Fader for quite some time-- she knows her shit.

just when you see mtv attached to anything...

Have nothing but looool to say to the infographic. Katy B "og dubstep don". That isn't true in any context.

Man, what's with people insisting that the Weeknd is somehow a mixture of R&B and dubstep? High For This and What You Need had slight connections but nothing else he's done has, least of all the Dirty Diana cover. Shit, of that song is dubstep infused then Michael Jackson invented dubstep.

Probably because anything that has some characteristics of dubstep or is somewhat dubstep-ish sounding is immediately tagged as dubstep. Like hiphop beats with a shit wobble over them.

Yeah, all in all, bar the odd sentence, this was actually an acceptable article from someone, who had at least a basic knowledge of the entire dubstep spectrum. So it wasn't all that bad.
But that last reference had me confused. Anything with bass is dubstep nowadays? Everyone knows anything with bass is house.
