Bit harsh!? You should have got an order confirmation detailing what you ordered and if it was a CD ( rightly or wrongly ) then we would have changed it for you had you let us know.

No idea how we're giving off a bad vibe but not much I can do about that right now..

True. personally I don't think Chemical is that terrible, there's just few things that I don't like about how it functions that make me prefer other stores.

The first thing is of course the fact that you don't support PayPal, and I thus have to pay by bank transfer which is a pain in the ass if you have to transfer it to a foreign country.

Secondly, the fact that after I have completed my order, there is no way for me to see what it is exactly that I just ordered and how much it had cost. This may sound weird, but when I complete an order all I get is a message saying that I now need to transfer the total amount of my order to your bank account. I don't get a summary of my order as far as I can remember. And when I go to my account and want to check my orders right after I have made one, I am not able to view latest order for some reason.
The problem here is that, by having to transfer it manually opposed to being redirected to the PayPal website, I have to remember the total amount of my order. But it happened to me a couple of times already that by the time that I completed my order I couldn't remember what it had cost me exactly and I thus had to get back to the site, look up every single product that I bought, recalculate my order and add shipping cost to it.
However, both these times I didn't recalculate it properly and I ended up paying more than my order had initially cost. So apparently I now have some sort of credit on my account (which is nowhere to be found either so I have no idea how much exactly).

So if I have the option of chosing between doing all of the above, or just filling my basket, clicking checkout, clicking make order, getting redirected to the PayPal website and then clicking Pay Now with an absolute 0% of mistakes. No wonder I prefer Redeye over Chemical.

And then there's also of course the humongous stickers on the sleeves which are completely unnecessary, but those I can live with.

that's probably the most stupid comment of yours i read so far (and i read a lot). you ordered ONE time and you're complaining about a "bad feeling" because "it gives off a bad vibe"?! seriously?! either add something constructive or stfu. i've never had any problems with chemical, always top notch. i'm not saying they're the best or perfect in general, but your "rating" of their service is WASTE.

never had any problems with chemical...then again i haven't ordered anything from them in the last year or so.

about the stickers: they come off pretty easily when they're on a regular sleeve.

Never had any problems with them, and I've ordered A LOT of stuff from there in the past. Always been quick to contact me if there's been any problems, and in the one time I've needed a refund (the label took a release off the shelf), I was refunded the same day.

Sometimes the stickers do take ages to get off though haha.

Yeh im in the same boat, been ordering from Chemical for years and never had a major problem that they didn't sort out straight away. I do agree with someone's previous post about the mailers coming open though, but apart from that, yeh never had a problem :4:

haha, yeah i thought that comment was pretty funny too...

I've used Chemical a lot for the last few years, brought hundreds of records and only had 1/2 bad ones received, which were dealt with very quickly & professionally.

Got to say Im impressed with what Surus are now doing, making good moves to help try to boost vinyl sales with the free mp3s. (Something that I have been banging on about for ages). But as far as 'non-distributer' stores go I think Chemical are doing a fine job!

Just placing another small order on there now; the website is not giving me a bad vibe or insulting me in any way haha.

yeah, I know. Also got Gene Hunt presents Chicago dance tracks LP, MCDE's DJ kicks LP, and Omar S' "It can be done but only I can do it LP" ... each for less than 8 pounds.

Rick Wilhite's Godson EP and Soul Edge EP (rush hour reissues) for 3 pounds each. I mean, that is rick wilhite, theo parrish, and moodymann for less than a drink at a bar.

I have ordered loads from chemical, never had any problems. Both redeye and chemical have been great. Think the chemical hate is bit much.

I don't buy vinyl anymore but back in the day Chemical was the only place I would order from; always top-notch service, and yes they will ship to the states!

all the chemical hate is undeserved.

the only gripe i have is the stickers on the sleeves and maybe the website layout (but most people seem to like it) but those are practically non-issues.

i tend to get records faster from chemical than any other store, which is a big deal to me since it takes for fucking ever to get to the states in the first place.

I actually did get a confirmation and sent 3 emails explaining my wish for the 12 instead of the CD. (I sent these messages seconds after receiving my confirmation). 2 hours later I get an email saying that my package is "too far in the shipping process"

Regardless, I admit my judgement was unnecessarily harsh, I apologize, I didn't really mean it. However, as an above poster listed, you guys do not accept paypal which does indeed complicate things quite a bit when banking with certain banks while residing in a foreign country. Still, I can deal with that.

The website.....I wouldn't say it's confusing, but there is just a substantial amount of room for improvement regarding the ease of placing orders, check-out, etc. It's quite easy to misunderstand what it is your after on the website. I still haven't received my records, but it's not at the point where I should seriously be getting worried yet, so no problems there. At the time, I was really pissed because I was dying for my favorite LP on vinyl, but instead ordered the CD. Afterwards, it really set me off when the service rep's message simply said that he couldn't do anything cause it was too late (2 hours after placing order), I felt blown off to say the least.

@baddis: .....way to read my message thoroughly. Smart guy you are. I clearly stated I was displeased because I was shipped the wrong item. A perfectly reasonable thing to be upset about.
