Dubturbo is like those Playstation music makers, or like Mixman. It's pretty funny, they pay people to do video reviews. Look on youtube, there's one with some guy with a stupid fake necklace who calls it DUH-TURBO and he talks about making just WAN BEAT.

Autotune is dope when used cleverly. It's shit when used on bubblegum pop FRIIIIDAY stuff. As an obvious effect it sounds great, like in between traditional vocoder and talkbox.

Darkstar uses it to great effect for example. I think it's a mix of traditional vocoding, autotune and melodyne.

an excellent tool for bass guitar if your intonation was slightly off, for example
the only pitch plug i know of that can do instruments really really well, and dramatic pitch effects.. WavesTune is excellent for very subtle correction on vocalists who already sound good (but fucked up a note here or there)

i hate the t pain effect very played out

Its a valuable weapon in todays production techniques. Shame it's almost never used quite right.
Then theres that James Blake record which abuses autotune to no end, IDK not my favorite studio trick by a long shot.
