i need a good piano vst

Post by chaotix » Wed Jan 04, 2012 11:35 pm

i'm looking for a if possible free piano vst that i can run in ableton. I need it for mac also, i've come across a few but they sound a little hollow.

You could try downloading a sample pack of individual recorded piano keys and map them to a sampler.. Probably get better results if you use velocity like a real piano.

Vsts aren't good at precise analog sounds.

As a pretty serious piano player, Ivory is the closest I've used but it still sounds like poop compared to the real thing and it's expensive as hell.

For free check out Sampletank free, it has some decent pianos: www.ikmultimedia.com/sampletankfree/
Piano VSTs are generally crap though, free or not. Multisample romplers are better.

Yeah. But even still, only to a certain extent.

Get yourself a copy of Edirol Orchestral... Nicest Piano sound I have with probably the nicest strings I have also. Amazing plug-in.
Abstrakt.

Come check out my fothermucking soundcoud:

Something TOTALLY different. Really enjoyed this badboy and the melodies.

True Pianos and Pianoteq are my go-to for piano sounds. Dimension Pro also has a good set of piano sounds as well.
