Dj Coslow & Ilker Sargin - Fashion Show EP
Dj Coslow began his career 1990 playing drums in his own band, after he found out the similarity of drum and the turntable he started his career as a Dj in Taksim where is the center of Istanbul nightlife..Ilker Sargin began to feel about dance itself by advancing its own group and even after a very dance group took part in an important decision in the field of dance music.
The EP was awash with broad strokes of expansive synths and abstracted drums, feels more like a return to dance floor primitivism. The lead cut is a spasm of pitched up darbukas and springy synths. An ascending drone, like an engine's hum, is overlaid, offering a sense of syntax—locked in an endless loop of climax and reset, each one is steeper than the last.
Clearly, the duo, functional polyrhythms of footwork—all movement, takes things in even more prickly, implements a greater depth of field thanks chiefly to undulating video game synth arpeggios and washes of pads that feel like thermal currents. "Fashion Show" is build further on the economical sonic palette of the two version resulting in an unyielding and clinical drum & bass styled exercise in restraint.
