Studio set up question

I am going to purchase a pair of krk rokit 6's and a focusrite saffire 6 usb audio interface (the general consensus on here appears to be that these are the best for my budget) but I am a bit confused on how to connect the two. If either the rokits or the saffire come with suitable cables, then apologies, but nothing makes it clear whether they do or not. If they don't, am I right by saying I can connect them by xlr or trs cables - but which of these are better, and could someone point me in the direction of the exact type I need to get?

On a side note, has anyone got any other recommendations for monitors or a soundcard in a similar budget?

They both do not come with the suitable cables for that.

I just bought two xlr to xlr cables, since those outputs are balanced and cause less interrupting noise for me. You just get normal XLR cables, nothing fancy about it. Don't make the mistake to buy speakon cables, those won't work.
If you really don't want to buy new cables and have some old guitar cables laying around, you can use those as well but don't be surprised if the quality is less than sufficient!

Ok, thanks mate. How are the rokits and the saffire going for you? The only thing i'm worried about is that the rokit 6's don't go below 48hz or something. But then i've also read that they are a bit too bass heavy?

I love my KRK's. dont worry about the sub-48hz. They aren't too bass heavy.
But i cheked out the saffire usb interface and it is lacking the XLR outputs... Just a heads up.

Are you kidding...? I have one here, connected with XLR.

You mix the sub that low with a spectrum analyzer anyway

They aren't too bass heavy, blakedipp is right on that.

I'm also rocking this setup, the Saffire 6 only has XLR inputs. I have mine hooked up via balanced TRS cables and sound quality is great. I think KoenDercksen is getting mixed up with TRS and XLR?

Hahah yeah. Sorry, I forgot I had xlr to trs plugged in... I was totally confident these were xlr to xlr
