Also a great idea.

I'd be interested in this. I've only got 2 class periods a day to work on music
But I'm more for the "Concept" a week thing than "Make this genre".

I thought the vocal thing was some clever acapella usage... Well i'd see what i can do, gonna be fun

It is vocal, right?

It was a great idea but no we're just making whatever we can for this week. If you want to challenge yourself by using vocals into your song then you can. I'm pretty sure there are others that are doing the same.

Right, so what's everyone got so far? I'm messing with a 32bar loop at the moment with the theme of levitiation (well, clouds actually as they're grey right now but whatever).

So far I also have a 32bar beginning. I'm working on something kind of complextroish? Sounds kind of similar to a Wolfgang Gartner/Avicii type of taste. We'll see how this comes out by friday!

64 bars now, messed around the arrangement and automation to give it some structure, reckon I'm nearly done. Going to reduce some of the elements to make an 8 bar intro/outro and that should be it.

Finished. If I upload, do I amend the first post under my name to include the tune?

Holy Jeebus. That's nice! I'm still at 32 Bars. Had to go do some stuff and trying to fix my xbox.

Yeah the tune would go under your name. Just put your soundcloud tune in there or send me the link and I'll put it in there.
Did you want to wait until Friday to post all of them at the same time? Or just put them up when it's ready?

Your call either way, this is your thread after all. I'm all for putting them up as and when, might maintain a level of interest to the thread if tracks are constantly being added.
Might get cracking on another one after my coffee, I found a couple of old loops in my collection that I'd bounced and not done anything with, so reckon might try and build something around those.

Yeah sure we can do that. We'll see how it pans out for the first week and if it doesn't work out well then for the 2nd week it'll be posting all songs at the same time on the Friday. The suggestions are good because this thread is pretty much still a foundation of something that can be great.
I have too many unfinished tunes/loops also which have a lot of great ideas in them. Just need to go back sometime and tamper with them.

So it seems the theme for this week is levitation?

I'm going for something with a lot of melodic and deep chords and melody...sort of a Phaelah thing.
That's what the idea of levitation means to me, musically.
