Post some photos of your SOFTWARE layout thread

Post by Sonika » Wed Jan 25, 2012 5:08 am

There's a pretty cool "post a photo of your setup thread." I thought we should try the software equivalent of that. I can't seem to get these to imbed, but here are the links.

Here's some screenshots of my track "Dark Mentality"

Interested to see what everyone else comes up with. GO 8)

Here's a track that's almost done. Just need to add a bit more spice, and then mix it.

I don't know if I'm the only one who does this. I organize my channels by color. Red is drums, Blue for leads, Green for little SFX things, Orange for bass sounds, and purple for pads.

I had to cut off some of the sides to make it fit with DSF's 1000pixel wide rule. Here's the full img if your interested. http://i.imgur.com/ts193.jpg

Cool, post the finished track when you're done. I should organize by color.

On a sidenote, how did you get DSF to post the actual photo vs just the link? I tried both photobucket and flickr where in between the two img thingies, but it says it can't determine the images size. What am I missing?

yes, that is your problem. just right click on the image and click "Copy Image URL" or whatever. You need the URL of the image itself...a page hosting the image will not work.

you guys are crazy splitting percussion/each individual sound like that, imo... shit looks overwhelming as hell!

i know i'm speaking in terms of fl studio alone, but i think taking things one pattern at a time is way more intuitive. of course i don't have everything together in a single pattern, but why not have one pattern for hats, one pattern for subs, one pattern for pads, etc?

Think he meant that he'd only used FL Studio, so couldn't comment on how workflow might be different in other DAWs.
