By submitting a few pictures, college, workplace and basic preferences such as taste in music or literature, you become part of one big demographic study about consumption. You save tons of corporation's money and make it easier to them sell products that you don't need and find ways to dictate your life.

They must know that the big dogs don't use facebook because it's so lax... this is just an issue of mass-control and I doubt they'll relinquish the right to do so
