I've got a DN-S3500 and a DN-HS5500 in my home setup, but the plates act around the same. I'm no turntablist, but I've spent a decent amount of time doing basic mixing on vinyl, and can tell you that it doesn't FEEL like vinyl, so don't expect that if that's what you're shooting for. The active platter is nice and a few friends of mine who are a bit better versed with DJing have been able to come over and scratch on my decks, and didn't seem to have many complaints at all about how well they react. They're not very sensitive though for smaller adjustments though; don't expect to be able to make small changes to the tempo via the platter like you would on vinyl. Which ends up being fine because you of course have the two pitch bend buttons in the lower right corner of the deck. Just know that you won't be able to simply put the deck in vinyl mode and emulate the feel of playing on a turntable, as that simply isn't the case.

Just a tip, be extra careful with the play/cue buttons. They don't hold up to the same sort of abuse that Pioneer's do. I pretty much only use my hot start buttons on both decks now as the cue/play buttons just don't react as they should anymore.
