Best Dubstep of 2011

Post by Skizz » Thu Feb 02, 2012 7:04 am

Hey guys... So I'm about to 'bag' a few 2011 releases from Juno download for the 20% off 2011 releases promotion (visit the site if ya dun know).

Greensleeves Dubstep Chapter 1 is in the bag. I'm looking for similar dubby and also deep/dark releases. Can you reccomend/what are you favourite releases/tunes of 2011?

It's too bad I just got a lot before this promotion such as the awesome Parson/Distance - Ghost Liner EP with Empty Houses on it, amazing slow tune there.

So yeah, I'm looking for bass heavy dubstep of the dub and deep/dark varieties. I love the 2-step skank. Hope you can help me and probably others come up with a wishlist/cart of bangers and slow jams. :dunce:

Thanks, Kromestar's stuff is alright... I like more melodic slow paced dubs over overly treble charged tracks. I admit Kromestar's bass is heavy but so is the treble... too much too fast kind of thing, it tends to gnaw at my brain.

I've heard good things about Author though, I'll peep the self-titled release, cheers.

Any other suggestions? Shame is, I loved the old sounds that Caspa & Rusko used to play... Those old wobbly tracks are what I categorize as classic dubstep. I'm looking for nice wobbly bass heavy beats.

Author - Author
Distance - My Demons
biome - propaganda/DMT
I assume you already have Cant Sleep & One of Us by KM...
If your looking for dark stuff bag basically all the chestplate releases (CHST013 and CHST015 are my favourites).
SP:MC & LX One - Hunted/Oh My Gosh
Synkro - MINDSET008
<keep it heavy>

Good call on the SP:MC, I like his sound and I think that's a 2011 release :)

Sully's Carrier may have been the best album of 2011.

Yeah, Colourful Vibrations isn't at all like Kromestar's tearout stuff, I recommended it cos its exactly like what you described:
