Nope. The definitive track is Misty Winter. It has been decided.

If this is the future, it seems highly livable: shiny, cool and comfortably dissonant. Like a low dose of ketamine in an empty, luminous airport hall in northern Japan, eating avocado and waiting for the universe to arrive.

misty winter / conference is such a good release :z:

For me its hard to choose because there are so many different styles, but i would probably go with Midnight request line, Goat stare or anti war dub.

If I was thinking about this from another angle and wanting to expose someone to the genre I've got to say it's nearly always Midnight Request Line that I go for as it's relatively accessible for anyone. And I'd say in terms of importance for dubstep's global exposure, it gets my vote too.

Yeah big up Jesus for dying for our sins and netting us a public holiday in the process.

Also, hot cross buns.

I'd agree with that ^

But I'd still also say listen Qawwali and Anti-War Dub at least before you write the genre off.
Also, none of those are dungeon...I'd probably show them One Of Us by Kryptic Minds to expose them to the dungeon side of dubstep as well...

Benga and coki - Night is a good way to start people off, everyone loves that tune.

But this is about which song DEFINES the genre, not the most accessible one.

Thus, it was decided, Digital Mystikz - Misty Winter :n:

Dark dubstep, fair amount of unsigned/amateur tracks from the forums too.
