Fiending for specifics

Post by k-1 » Tue Feb 07, 2012 3:54 am

I'm pretty out of the loop with most of what goes on in the UK dubstep scene so i havn't really got a broad view of it
I'm particularly looking for soft, dark tracks with jazz or soul with vocals. jazz vocals would be an amazing bonus
i would stockpile this like a motherfucker if i could find any, so if anyone could point out some artists that produce these kinds of tracks, i would GREATLY appreciate it.
closest i've come is [josh jokes - one grain of sand] on the last dance london EP, as well as obscured obstacle by dmitry evgrafov on the same album, even though its not dubstep.

another kind im looking for is bassy reggae dubstep. example of this is smiley face by skream. Im sure there is lots of this out there, just need someone to point me in a direction.

tl;dr i need jazz/soul dubstep and reggae dubstep

thanks for your help :)

^ thanks heaps with the reggae :)
but i just realised my description of the first request was pretty shit, let me try again.

probably what im more looking for are electronic bassy reworks of frank sinatra, vince jones, even swing like the ink spots.
now that i think about, what im asking for probably doesnt exist. but if anyone can draw any kind of similarities between this and music they know, id love to know about it

Coki has some Reggae vocal gems

Coki - Soundboy
maybe you'll like his 'Burnin' track too.
I found a way to get piece of mind for years and left the hell alone, turn a deaf ear to the cellular phone

yea got a bunch of coki. soundboy is another example of what i love
but batwa /=/ reggae. looking more for the offbeat~ oldschool ska
thanks though :)

EDIT:
about 15 seconds of this is ok. from about 1:20 to 1:35, but it doesnt have to have vocals, just a nice reggae sound. pref original and not cut straight from a classic lol
