A cheap, customizable MIDI controller needs your help!

Post by TrickyDan » Wed Feb 08, 2012 3:46 am

Hey guys,
I've come across a very nice, cheap, customizable MIDI controller and it needs all the support it can get.
It's called the Chomp, its open source, and has 48 in/outs for anything you want to stick on it.
Here's the catch: it needs pledges from people to ever happen.
At the moment it's on a site called Kickstarter, where people can help others fund cool projects that need help getting off the ground.
You guys can see for yourselves, here's the link:

For the record, I did not make this, I'm only sharing it because I would really like it to get funded.
Anyways, what do you guys think?

PS: First post :D
Cheers!

You take the Chomp, you take any sort of input you want- can be as simple as a knob to as crazy as a touchscreen or sensor- and connect it to the Chomp.
Through that you will then be able to use that input as a Midi device, to control software and such.

So I need to own knobs and touchscreens with no other function other than to be used on the Chomp? If i hook up an iPhone does it become a touchscreen where all the buttons become assignable to parameters in my daw?

Nah, you will need to buy the inputs, but they are decently cheap. All in all making a midi controller with Chomp is much less expensive than buying one.
Not to mention that you are free to build it exactly how you want it.
