@Eye_Sic: Great song writing, get the mix sounding less muddy. Overall, I dig the vibe. Catchy and heavy.

@mthrfnk: Sick song. Really digging the progression of the song. The effects are class. Maybe fatten up that fuzzy lead a bit?

@jimbeaux: Heavy stuff. Snare sounds beast. Really digging your basses and great vocal sample.

Here's something I'm working on. I'm on the road, so I mixed by numbers with headphones. Too much low end on the kick?

@Eye-siC thanks for the feedback and i'll be sure to take the reverb out, i'm using some shitty ass headphones to produce and I wasn't sure if it made the bassline mix together more or just create unwanted ambience on a hard hitting drop

@dbaxx thanks mate, i'll be sure to hit you up with a download if you would like!

jetpack- quite unique sounding, still got a bit of weight but very melodic, nice one pal. the snares a bit weak sounding, and you need to eq the reverb on your leads, its muddying the mix up slightly, other than that theres potential man keep going

Eye-siC- nice sounding basslines already, hi hats have good groove to em, need to work on the kick and snare mate, they dont sound very at good at all, takes away from the tune a lot. sort the drums out and the tune will be big!

mthrfnk- nice tune, the midrange sound needs mixing a bit better, doesnt feel like it fits in with the rest of the tune and sounds a bit cheap, he kick needs sorting out too, its really weak but that might just be how you want it to sound i dont know, good melody though, keep it up bro!

my effort:

@Electric_head - Very original, yet old school tune man. Like it alot. The only thing i could complain about is your general sound, but that is your personal business, and not mine to treadin on. But i would reconsider some of the synths and percs on the latter minute of the song.

@Jetpack - pretty good tune. I would overlook the bass loop, see if you could get it to be a bit "catchier" and a bit more cocky. Or something..

@Riich - THats srsly some good stuff coming to life there... Just finish that badboy! :Q:

This is a basic beat for a song a friend and me are working on, so.. This is just the beat, vocal samples and a possible rap, is yet to come...

@Alexandercunningham: Absolutely awesome. This is going to sound great with vocals on top. Im gonna drop a follow on you on sound cloud. Really hope to hear more of this. Great stuff. :Q:

@Cheeky: Heavy stuff. Loving that snare. I suggest, during the first drop automate the cutoff on a filter to come down on that mid range every now and than. It will give it a "riding out" type of feel.

@Jetpack: Just like you said, a little too much low end on your kick. Just roll off the really deep and on an EQ and it will be fine. This track seems sort of like happy dubstep? I like it, no complaints here.

@dbaxx: Leave feedback for others :dunce:

@Thelastthing: Leave feedback for others :dunce:

@Eye-siC: This track has some real grove to it haha. To me, it sounds reeeeeaaaaallly over compressed.

@Mthrfnk: Your intro is super swingy I love it. Really cool track. If I was you, I would add a few tempo slow downs every now and than, I think that would sound dope with your synths you have going. Also, I would roll off some of the REALLY high end on that synth.

@jimbeaux: Sort of datsik sounding. Really robotic man. To me, it sounds like its really compressed. For some reason the quality is really bad.

Ok guys heres my WIP, let me know what you guys think and what I can change up here. Thanks! :4:

@Antman: Thanks for the feedback. I figured the kick was low. Thanks for the input.

As for your track: Heavy, good production. Great vocal samples. Down to hear the finished product.

@Cheeky: Thanks for the feedback

Your track: Great snare sample. Pads and high end synths are killer. Old school heavy.

@Alexander: I agree. I will switch up the bass notes a bit and make it catchier. Thanks for the feedback.

Your track: Great song writing. I could see this with a rapper or female vocalist on it. I write most of my tracks for vocals, too. Make sure to get someone good!!

@Jetpack I really like the tune but one thing I think you could do would be adding something like a sidestick to your snare to really give it that punchy click and make the track that much more powerful.

@Cheeky The vibe is awesome and your transitions between segments are seamlessly integrated. Keep this up can't wait to hear more!

@antman I could help but feel the groove in this track.. Love it! Very easy to rock too

He is my WIP and I only added the last sample because I thought it was funny to put there.. Let me know what you think

Thanks for listening.
I have modified that original track quite a bit.
Mostly in the 2nd section as you`ve mentioned.

@ DevonCanon: I was kinda thrown off of the initial melody. I think some of the portamento was a bit too long. It's something that has the potential to be catchy, but the slides were preventing it from being something I could hum back after listening a few times. Also, make the modern talking stuff sound more unique. Add more elements or thicken up things a bit. To be frank, it just sounds like a thin, cookie cutter song. It needs more groove, man!

@Antmann: Let the main bassline speak up a bit more! I think it just needs a few db more. :) It feels like the snare is on top of the rest of the track. It just kinda smacks harder than the rest of the track is at imo. Maybe automate some reverb on it so that the fourth snare hit just releases all that energy, yknow? Nice sample usage. Use some of that instrument that plays two notes at the beginning of each phrase to add some more melody to interact with the song. Even just a little bit of a call and response type lick would add a lot to it, like some minor scale leads or a dark sounding chord.

@ Alexander Cunningham: Interesting vibes and drums. The snare fills are nice. Some of the compression sounds a bit wonky. Not the pumping to the kick drum, I like that(although it could be a bit less intense and maybe slower for my tastes), but what sounds like compression already on the synth before the sidechain pump/ducking. Maybe play with the parameters or try two different compressors with moderate settings to make it less.....wonky. haha I can't really describe it but that the compression sounds ilke you pushed it too hard. Cool vibes though. Love the choir sounds. :)

@ BASSHEAD!: This one slams pretty nice. 8) That gunshot snare sound is badass. It cracks pretty nice, although it sounds like .22 :P Maybe add a bit of mids if possible? It does sound pretty good already, though. Any tips for that kind of snare sound? :) You should make another part of the song that keeps the sub and drums at the same levels and have a more minimal bassline but extra dark, although maybe have the snare held back a bit(and maybe lower sounding) so that the full drop just unleashes it. Contrast would make it huge. Kinda like the very last part, but with just a darker/lower/deeper, pounding groove without that high synth at first and then bring it in.

@jetpack: I like the changing grooves/feels. It makes it more natural sounding like how a band plays. If I were you, I wouldn't have some of the drum sounds the same in the intro as when the tune comes into full swing. And add some variation to the hi hats! Some different different samples, velocities, different pitches of the sample you used already, snare ghost notes, maybe add some breakbeat loops in and eq them so they fill out the high mids of the song more. The hi hats need to groove a bit more imo.

Here's my track. The guitar was done by my friend. I kinda fudged the recordings, so when I brought up the levels there was a bunch of noise, so I added some slow sweeps to make the noise fit into the song. Good idea or does it sound bad? We're probably going to re record the guitar parts.

@jetpack- I really dig the groove, but the drums overpower the mix a little too much for my taste. Love the harmonics going on in the background too.

@Cheeky- Dat snare. Love the lead and wonky robot bass.

@Alexandercunningham- Deep, man. Very well done percussion though it clips a little bit with the soundscape. Dig it.

@antman- nice and heavy, I want to hear how you incorporate those vocal samples with the finish product.

@Artie Fufkin- Very. very. groovy. Reminds me of like postrock dubstep. Some hipster just got a hardon. IMO the sweeps give it a nice texture.

Forgive me DSF for I have sinned and tried out... brostep? dubstep? whatever it's called nowadays. Working on more bass variations but i'd like opinions on what i've got so far.

@Antman - Loving the samples, Kind of reminds me of Gimme more rock by Super Mash Bros... Really like the groove(:

@Jetpack - Like it, The beginning reminds me of a song and i cant remember the name of it and it is KILLING ME. ..... FILTHY LUMMOX... thats it, the part before all the fart noises and stuff haha(:

@Cheeky - Love it, has kind of a mechanical vibe to it, sounds very metalic

Heres my latest WIP, obviously it's nowhere close to being finished... Garageband is the absolute worst program ever in the history of programs because when your editing on it the volume of each track sounds all good together but then when you convert it to itunes the volume of each track is WAY off... so the volume might sound uneven at times, its only because of my HORRIBLE software.

@Electric_Head This track is great. That additional percussion which enters around the 4:30 mark fits so perfectly, real dark - at times this track sorta reminds me a little of Nine Inch Nails or sometimes Massive Attack/Portishead. Keen to hear how this turns out.

your WIP is great for a rap song man, its hard to say what it would sound like with some rhymes on top of it but I think you have to tighten your kick a bit and mess around with the overall mix of your drums to make it sound clearer, maybe eq everything so its not conflicting with your bass/mids/highs so much in certain places and maybe try to layer your clap and snare a bit, try the vengeance drum sample packs, they're the best IMO, besides deadmau5's percussion sample pack

and thanks for the feedback man, it sure means a lot, i'll be sure to hit you up with a download link when I'm finished!

if you could just post on my feedback thread or my soundcloud that would be amazing xD

thank you to fluidmoshun, difference, riich, mthrfnk, jetpack, and antman for the feedback.

@fluidmotion - cool reversed sounding intro. drum work sounds really clean. very nice melody in this, an the glitch work is very nice. this tune i think would be more lsd related than mine, this track makes me feel happy like lsd so you did good i say.

@difference - overall i think you track is produced an mixed very well. i can't say really to add anything i'd say this one is finished. make a mix friendly outro. only other thing maybe could be some vocal samples i can hear lots of thing in my head to go to this but you might be after something else. very good work.

@mthfnk - really cool glitchy industrial type of sound in this. really dign the groove. i think the sub in the beginning is kind of strong , but the mid section is spot on i think. the filtered melody part after the mid section sound really cool as well, just kinda low end muddy. outro with the hand drums is a nice touch. nice work in this man.

@eye-sic - man this was really rotton sounding for sure. sounded alot like downlink. those synths are nice man. really. would like to hear more of this.

@thelastthing - not bad on this. the wobbles sound a little to fast , or mushy for a main part i'd use that fast wobble once before a drop or at the tail of a section, the put some slower cleaner ones in for your main parts.

@dbaxx - sweet build up in this track, i'd lower the build wob a bit an filter some of the basses out more like it does just before the drop a bit early on. drop synths are sounding really harsh on this, i'd eq them alot. not to bad though, very mtalk for sure. :W:

@electrichead - very deep, smooth intro. the body of this is very dreamy an the sub is perfect. very dark in the end. i really enjoyed every part of this the production on this is amazing. props man.

tried a different approach on my mixdown on this and added a bit of variation and a couple new patterns they're kinda boring i was going for clarity on this but i think im still having trouble with muddiness.. may need to take a break for a bit an come back to it...

Hey, I'm pretty new to producing this is my first track that i've worked on properly and need some feedback for what i've for what I've done already. It's only 1/2 of the song but I thought i'd get some peoples thoughts before I continue. There's some stuff I know I need to tweak and eq such as the drums and sub bass but any other suggestions/feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks :D

@jetpack: that beat is punchy as heck man, i love those samples!i feel like your sub bass overpowers your mid bass a bit, to me it sounds a little muffled because of it. to me your hats are just a slight bit harsh, throw the tiniest bit of reverb on them and take the level down ever so slightly. overall loving the track man, i'm digging the composition. keep it up!

@cheeky: im digging the eerie intro, and when those wobbles come in.... talk about grimy. i feel like the transitions might need a little more attention. i love that bass at 3.23, infact good sounds overall!on second listen i feel like your beat is a too straight forward. probably just my taste. your hats could come out a smidge, i feel like they really get lost in the mix until the very end. good stuff man!

@alexandercunningham: the feel in this is awesome!very action movie epic sounding haha. your snare fills seem somewhat out of place though, their timing could use a little of fiddling with. way way cool track, looking forward to hearing the finished piece.

@antman: deeeeppp. i would suggest adding some delay to the vocal samples(at least the female ones). that might fill out the sound a little in your intro. i'll give you a follow on soundcloud, cause im really interested in how this track is going to turn out.

@artie fufkn: damn that intro is sick. huge smile on my face when that bass came in. very dubby. lotsa bounce just the way i like it! must hear it finished!

@thelmbrjck: well... fuck... massive tune. kick feels like it could have a little more oomph to it. big ups man.

@zowski: i like when it dropped. the intro sounded kind of messy imo, not really a clear direction. when the kick and cymbal bring in the beat it sounds squashed and distorted. dial it back a little to get it sounding crisper. basses are pretty cool. i sense potential in this track. would love to hear it when it's a bit more complete.

@jimbeaux: filltheeee. something about the sound of the snare seems off to me.. maybe some reverb? not really sure. cool sounds. arrangement seems good so far. keep it up!

here's my wip. still a lot of things that need changing and attending to. let me know what you think! :Q:

That's the vibe I was aiming at, glad you like it mayn :) I like the vocal nuances you added, plus everything sounds nicely balanced. That ride bell is the only thing that sounds a little out of place to me. That grittier sounding hat after the bell is really tight and fits the song well. I'd rely a little more on that grittier hat sound and less on the bell. Its really coming along , tho.
