how to keep the fire going

Post by topmo3 » Tue Feb 21, 2012 3:31 pm

i find myself bored with the whole edm/bass music ting nowadays. i can't be too excited about new releases, don't bother listening to it much and i only buy records so that i'd have something new to play at our monthly little club. i barely listen to them. how do you relight the fire :)

What i do is i spend a few weeks just listening to classical and jazz ballads, nothing but real instruments and great older recordings, some classic rock and roll
Then after i don't feel like listening to that anymore i come back to beats and bass
if you're not feelin something there's no point forcing it, imo

but don't choose to live without music
dubstep Soundcloud

rock

Just keep following the good labels, be open minded - And go to the house section of this forum, some really great stuff being shared in there. Oh yeah, and buy vinyls instead - have gone from being a traktor/cd-dj to play mostly vinyl and it is just something different.

yeah as i stated in the op, i still buy records (always been 100% vinyl) but i just cant force myself to be as excited about them as i used to. they're just something to play out if i get to dj somewhere. and i've been following a bit broader scale of edm since day so listening to a bit of house isn't that refreshing. guess the answer is just to play actual instruments and listen to rock and shit, to call the whole electronic music thing off for a while, as someone here suggested!
