therapist wrote:Not trying to be all weird or anything, just seems an appropriate place to ask. Anyone ever think of a funny response to a situation, you'd say it if there were other people there but you just keep it in your head. Then a few seconds later you say it anyway, to nobody, and then you've somehow made it awkward even though you're by yourself. You just sit there with this cold shiver of resentment, wishing you hadn't said anything.
No matter what the situation, even really bad ones, I'm constantly thinking of a way to work it into an imaginary stand-up routine, that gets a nervous first reaction followed by roaring laughter, the thought process is narrated by Ed Norton in 1st person.

I think I do it because no one I know shares the same interests as me, so I make up conversations I would have if I did.

Just read through this whole thread, pure gold

I found myself nodding to a lot of things people said... Apart from catching my shit in tissue to feel the warmth... But I've done other really weird stuff...

Like cityzen, I spend a lot of time alone, mainly because I work alone. I do a lot of driving and always have music playing. Sometimes when I drive past groups of chavs I turn my music up really fucking loud to see how many heads turn...

I do the thing where you fart under the covers in bed and smell it. Let's face it we all love our own brand.

I tend to have strange conversations with myself in my head where I'll be saying stuff in my head and acknowledging myself with actual speech
I also have moments where I sit in my car at work in incredibly deep thought (usually when I'm really tired)... And when I finally realise just how deep in thought I am I break out of it with a loud and constant hum or some other weird noise.

I also sometimes find myself hopelessly beatboxing dubstep tunes on my own in a kind of michael jackson style with "dah"s and really short, snappy vowels to add texture.

The wierdest thing though... Is when you stare at yourself in the mirror. See how long it takes you to think, "Seriously, what the fuck are you doing?".

EDIT: Another really weird thing - I speak to lots of different people for my job, and sometimes when I'm having a conversation with someone I stare really intently into their eyes but my mind starts to wander and think about things completely unrelated to the situation I'm in, yet I still manage to continue the conversation as if I've been listening the whole time. Also if I stare hard enough (I say stare but it's more just maintained eye contact), I kind of start thinking, "this bloke literally has no idea what is going on in my head right now". It's kind of funny when you're chatting to some bloke about work whilst thinking about how weird it is that people's eyes are like balls of jelly... I do have fun at work.

I just have random outbursts all day, particularly at work! Eg shouting in duff man's voice, perfecting the ultimate rnb dance moves while I wait for the kettle to boil

DUFF MAN CAN'T BREATHE

OHHH NOOOOO

All about the pidgeon head movement when dancing away from a customer (if you're in sales that is)

Weird?
Hmm...pissing in the showers a common one...

I like to sniff dogs? I particularly like the smell of a just-out-the-bath dog. I wouldn't quite put it on the level of garlic, but for sure it's higher than petrol.

The most worrying thing about this thread is that people are really only telling the stuff they're willing to share.

Also people who go on about weird they are... well...

Maybe I should stop making a habit of insulting everybody in entire threads.
