Dark dubstep, fair amount of unsigned/amateur tracks from the forums too.

ARE YOU guys shitting me? That Soundmouse chick has an awful sounding voice, easily one of the shittiest overhyped 'dubstep' songs I've ever heard.

and on that note, am I the only person who really can't stand Warrior Queen?

Get the entire fuck out of here. Now.

And what's with putting 'dubstep' in quotation marks?

Yeah, never have been able to listen to Warrior Queen... just doesn't sound pleasant/ compliment the music to my tastes.

Notable female vocalists for me include Reija Lee, Alys Be, Jessie Ware, Katy B, Belle Humble, and Jess Mills. I feel like I'm forgetting some though :/

Kryptic Minds with Alys Be was one collab I loved
Also, on the Phaeleh with Soundmouse topic, I wasn't a HUGE fan of Afterglow, but that other track by Phaeleh and Soundmouse called Breathe In Air, that one's really beautiful.

Hate vocals, love samples. Some exceptions though, this being my favourite:

I like Warrior Queen, Yolanda, Cha Cha, Terri Walker, Emika + some others a lot too. It's just that most tracks with female vocals end up sounding very cheesy and unimaginative (I guess in attempt not to overpower the vocals), which is why I usually avoid them. I guess it depends more on the producer, some just know how to do it properly.

i don't really think phaeleh and soundmouse are 'over hyped' he's stayed true to his sound people just fall in love with his music and why wouldn't they its beautiful he deserves far more recognition imo afterglow is obviously the most well known but what about the 'the cold in you'

I work with the hugely talented Victoria Klewin, she features on 2 tracks in a fairly recent EP, and she will be featuring even more on a forthcoming 12" single on Soul Motive and album.

Check out one of our tracks

Perfect example of what I mean by over using vocals. The beats good and her voice isn't even that bad, but I can't stand when someone sings over the entire beat.

preferred structure of a tune with a singer is:

intro(voice) > build(voice) > drop(no voice) > Bridge(voice) > drop 2(no voice) > end(voice)

I'm actually pretty shocked... I've never heard any hate for anything by Phaeleh on this forum or in the fleshy zone... how can you possibly like dubstep, and music in general, and think Afterglow is bad? :corntard:
