Nah. Bands like Bring Me The Horizon and Asking Alexandria aren't metalcore, just scene/shit/lamecore. Caliban is decent metalcore with melodic parts, i.e.
i don't like caliban either :/

fast intro riff, DOUBEL BASE DRMNIN!!!! then screaming vox for verse melodic chorus, wash rinse and repeat followed by a super screamy bridge riff and wait for it BREEEEAK DOWWWWN *chugs E string a couple of times and chucks in a pinch harmonic/discordant double stop*. 3rd verse chorus and intro reprise.

thats there is the structure for about 90% of metalcore songs, the other 10 percent swap the screaming/singing round for verse and chorus.

not to mention all the riffs are just poor at the gates rip offs, non of the vocalists can sing OR scream and they all dress like a bunch of fucking girls.

and dont get me started on deathcore thats even worse :cornlol:
Whitechapel is decent deathcore man, and I wouldn't call xTyrantx fucking girls :cornlol:
whitechapel!? your just trying to upset me now :cornlol:

deathcore is a hideous watered down version of death metal with too much "core" in it, its death metal for scene kids essentially.
As long as I love BDM and DF, I enjoy some JFAC and Whitechapel now and then. Now what, you are going to tell me how Mastodon sucks? :cornlol:

no i wouldn't really call mastodon post metal, neurosis, giant squid that stuffs post metal..... mastodon are kind of modern progressive? with a hint of sludge? they don't really pigeon hole all that well.

metal is electronic.. they use electric guitars with electronic effects like distortion in the signal chain - its just as electronic as benga imo

metal is played with live instruments though, and the electric guitar is still an "acoustic" instrument its just amplified and then distorted and such, the sound created though is still from the physical strings vibrating and not synthesized. same goes for the drums and bass and even vocals are live and not sampled etc. thus metal is not infact electronic music by definition.

and before you say "but electronic can have live instruments too!" its an exception and not the norm, just like some strands of metal (rap,nu,industrial) use synths and samples but its still not electronic music just like electronic with live instruments suddenly doesn't become metal.
