Essential MIDI gear for Logic Studio

Post by Dosva » Tue Feb 28, 2012 5:28 am

So I'm looking to expanding upon the MIDI gear that I currently am using with Logic Studio. (Which is only an Akai MPK 25) And I was looking for input from other Logic users. What are your favorite pieces of gear to use with Logic? I'm mainly referring to things other than keyboards, as having tried several brands, the Akai is by far my favorite for keys. Overall this is a pretty subjective question, but I want to hear what pieces of hardware you couldn't live without. (Or could but would rather not)

a midi keyboards a midi keyboard bro, doesn't really matter unless the piece of kit is specifically tailored for a certain daw. i have the mpk25 as well, but if anything its made to work best with ableton, but works well in all daws. i like it. i use it with reason and logic and i don't do much else than plug it in and play it. don't really use the knobs much as i can get more precise automation and what not within logic simply using the pencil tool and the automation curve tool.

I've been temped by a dedicated controller like the mpd. The MPK already has pads built into it though, how are you finding them?
