cuz it's all nu metal, which, while slightly related to 'real' metal, is really not at all - not heavy, poppy, just bullshit throwaway teen angst bullshit.
it's like if you want on a metal board and there was a thread about dubstep and people were posting pinch, mala, tunnidge and then someone posts up modestep. yeah it's related but it's not the real thing at all.
again, my 2 cents. i like what i like as well and don't consider myself trv kvlt or anything.
far too many to mention.... and I can't pick just one. But across the full spectrum of heavy music I'd have to include:
Meshuggah
Dillinger Escape Plan
Drowningman
Glassjaw
Madman Is Absolute
earthtone9 (particularly their first album)
Tool
Converge
Necrophagist
Beneath The Massacre
Deftones (for the early stuff)
Will Haven
Vision Of Disorder (especially Imprint, but their more recent stuff is flaccid as)
Slayer (of course)
Pantera
Sepultura
Neurosis
Breach

Waking the cadaver is obviously a group of trolls. I hope. The first time i heard them i just busted out laughing, the dude who showed me was like, "What, you don't like popcorn drumming?" Oh lord, how i laughed.
what the fuck is popcorn drumming?
I'll paraphrase, "It's where they decide to hit the snare at random intervals, making it unique everytime they play it, and therefor more brutal."
basically really sloppy blastbeats then?
Specifically the part in chased through the woods by a rapist, when he goes "SHREDDED WHEEEEEEAAAAEAEATTTT!" And then the drums start "popping" as my brutal com-padre would put it. Terrible sadness. Haha.
And on topic, I'd like to reinforce the Beneath the Massacre tip. They were tight as hell when i saw them, which is impressive, considering how challenging a lot of their parts are. I know for a fact most of the guitar part are a pain in the ass to play clean.
