D-nasty- Dynasty (ft. Ciara) (dubstep/dance hybrid)
I know the following things about my current song: it needs to be somewhat condensed and there is one flow issue in a part.
My main issue is EQ and mastering, could someone(more prefered) provide suggestions, insight, etc about my song particularly about the EQ. Any other general suggestions would be great also.
Thanks,
Dy-nasty

The mixdown is pretty awful...the vocal is getting swamped by the other elements and making it very hard to hear.

very busy. every instrument should excel at its own respective frequency and if its too clashing then see what you can take out

"awful" is anything but constructive...if your going to post, dont waste time both yours and mine...offer something that I can improve with

the guys above me are correct. if i was you i would turn everything down and start building your dynamics again from scratch, you know have some things quieter then others it would add more flow to the track and would be more pleasant on the ears because atm it sounds like everything is pumped up to 0db and your mix is starved of headroom.
Equalisation on the other hand i would start to think about once the general levels are sorted, maybe cut some frequencies from your mid range noises to help the kick and snare punch through a bit.
i think you could benefit from choosing a different snare sound as the one used atm sounds quite hollow airy and lacks a real punch, try layering a snare peaking at around the 200hz mark with one that is hitting a bit higher in the frequency range for instance 1khz bus them together add some slight compression and eq.
your kick sounds over distorted, try less compression or distortion.
My golden rule is, if something is not loud enough in the mix dont turn it up, try turning other things down!
I hope this was constructive and all the best with future projects

THank you very much. Much more helpful. Im not sure if I am going to salvage the song, it was my first song so it was more of an experiment on how I can improve. Clearly these are my flaws. I will work on all of the above in the next song, thanks a bunch

As per my previous post, I advised that the mixdown wasn't up to par and that you could do with addressing it, particularly how the vocal was placed in the mix.
Re: D-nasty- Dynasty (ft. Ciara) (dubstep/dance hybrid)
Everything sounds slightly overdriven. Do you have something running on your master? Take it off and learn how to mix your various elements.
As mentioned before me, the mixdown needs to addressed on various points. On vocal track, the vocal is the main point of reference. You can hardly pick it up on this.
The way it is now. This sounds like there's a bunch of tracks in the middle of dj mix going on together. Not a good thing.
