that's nonsense, must disagree. it's easy to tell the difference, that tune wasn't bro. it has nothing to do with knowing production. there was nothing brostep about that. having distortion isn't the point.. bro is cookie cutter rave-face material. That was a tune. and it sounded nothing like anything flux pavilion would create, doesn't take a producer's ears to tell that
OHHH I beg to differ

same old ish, but toned down a bit, meh

Oh and btw, just saw skream post this on facebook:

Got loads of new music including a BRAND NEW Burial + Four Tet (Official) collaboration! And new tunes from ourselves, Kryptic Minds, Benny Page, Noah D, Photek + Pinch and loads more!!!!!! It's gonna be a big one! http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01cp66q
Surely, you UK guys should be stoked about this, and please stop complaining. It's so annoying, this thread is over 110 pages, and 90% of it is pure hate. It's so ridiculous.
Hear those tunes on a system or even a decent set up at home and anyone will realise they sound very different to Flux' stuff. Trolley Snatcha - The Future I would consider brostep and yet I like that. It's not simply a matter of what we do and don't like. I'm also gonna point out that Vex'd have made tunes that sound far more convincingly hard than any brostep I've heard which tends to sound extremely cheesy. It's funny you should mention production too because I think this is a one of the main flaws of brostep - an obsession with production techniques. They all want to make the craziest sound they can without thinking about the musicality of what they are coming out with. Kind of like those very technically gifted guitar players who don't really have a creative bone in their body. Soulless music...

must mean I'm uptight or upset cuz I don't think the srebme breaks jokes are funny. On the other hand it could just be because it's just not funny; but it's probably the sticks in the ass deal.

Yeah, that goes for many producers, but it doesnt apply to everyone though. Brown & Gammon is the best example I vould think of right away.

Fuckin hell, people thinking Vex'd are brostep....

Vex'd music is dark, hard, aggressive and atmospheric, brostep is just hard and over the top and sounds rediculous. Vex'd basically destroyed all brostep back in 05 before brostep even started.

At 1.56 on the this track my speakers fuckin ERUPT. This is the difference between some shitty cheesy rediculous brostep and real hard and aggressive music. Listen to on a good system and you'll know what i mean.

Vexd killed off most other dubstep full stop. Talk about under-rated producers...

"Degenerate" was the first dubstep album i ever bought and along with "Burial" basically got me into the genre back in 2007.

Underated isnt even the word, they have influenced so many other artists, and it really says something when in a genre so fast moving as dubstep that the industrial soundscapes they created on "Degenerate" have yet to be equaled. Pity now that aggressive dubstep mainly means listenting to Datsik.

Even their more atmospheric, incredibly dense second album was brilliant, and i havent heard much like that since. Jamie Vex'd EP was great too. Im not sure what the forum thinks about the Roly Porter and Kuedo albums but i loved them.

Basically imo, if you dont own "Degenerate" you are missing out on a true dubstep classic. Get that shit NOW

Yeah Vex'd, Toasty, Search & Destroy, Darqwan, Boxcutter etc are all kind of underrated these days tbh

Havent heard much Search & Destroy but the rest are all criminally underrated, particulary Boxcutter, and i say them above the others bacause of their relativly large output in comparison. "Oneric" and "Glyphic" are brilliant albums.
