For me its between Roots Manuva - Brand New Second Hand, Phi Life - Millenium Metaphors or Jehst - Falling Down
Such a hard choice
I'd go for Phi Life (or Jehst?).dj snaps wrote:Interested to know what peoples thoughts are on this..

Checked that Blade album, such a cool sound.. why does it have virtually no views on yourtub?magma wrote:I'm going for 10 personal favourite UK RAP albums... some of these are a bit grime/triphop crossover to be considered Hip Hop, I guess... no particular order..
Roots Manuva - Run Come Save Me/Dub Come Save Me
Skinnyman - Council Estate Of Mind
Skitz - Countryman
Ty - Closer
Klashnekoff - The Sagas Of...
Dizzee Rascal - Boy In Da Corner
Taskforce - Music From The Corner vol1
Tricky - Maxinquaye
Blak Twang - 19 Longtime
Blak Twang - Kik Off
Surprised with how many immediately came to mind actually and how many I missed off. The UK's done better than people tend to think... the first Streets album definitely deserves recognition as a rap album whether it's hiphop or not...
Edit: And I forgot Blade - The Lion Goes From Strength To Strength...

You've got it backwards... they're both Rap but neither's Hip Hop.mrdii wrote:Was thinking about this the other day. My personal favourite is Original Pirate Material, but I don't really count it as rap, it's got elements of tonnes of different genres in there. Nor would I classify Boy In Da Corner as rap...it's grime!
