Kind of. They tried too. Compa came and did a 100% vinyl/dubplate set after that and didn't have any problems that I can remember. There have been some problems since then though but hopefully they are sorted by now.vulvavibration wrote:^vulvavibration wrote:did they fix it meanwhile?

The tone-arm on the left deck was bent and wobbly so there wasn't anything they could do at the time! The right deck's tone-arm wasn't bent but it was wobbly.
They replaced the left turntable for the next week when Compa played - if you look at the video there's a 1210 and a 1200.

big upz man. I had to google what 'aplomb' meant thoughPistonsbeneath wrote:you used those decks at the mindstep party with aplomb mate have to say£10 Bag wrote:Move on. Shit happens.
If anyone saw my 100% dubplates set on GetDarkerTV when both decks were completely fucked...you know.
I'd always wanted to play a warehouse rave in London, and all that snow was crazy, and the place was vibesing, and Crises warmed it up proper - it added up to quite the adventure!

Looks like the Turntable Pimp has sorted out the decks, hopefully no more incidents!£10 Bag wrote:The tone-arm on the left deck was bent and wobbly so there wasn't anything they could do at the time! The right deck's tone-arm wasn't bent but it was wobbly.

Bad workmen etc.... Nothing wrong with vinyl. Just requires more care and attention which is more difficult in a club situation
And how will you inquire into a thing when you are wholly ignorant of what it is? Even if you happen to bump right into it, how will you know it is the thing you didn't know?

Just wheel the tune, pause for 2 seconds and drop this dancefloor destroyer
Re: DJs, how do you redeem yourself after a bad set?
I've never played a bad DJ set because I've never played to more than 20 or 30 people, most of which were my friends
After a shitty live performance however, I just get drunk and get off the stage asap haha
