It's a very clean and well organised festival. It's the most professional festival I've been too. It's all about 'luxury' and comfort and planning and of course, stunning visuals: the stages are always awesome (except the d&b/dubstep stages who usually get neglected).

It's not a dirty festival: everything is kept clean, there's a lot of security and police, so drugs can be tricky at some stages, at the bigger stages in amongst the crowds of course there is no risk.

This all has a price though: the target audience for this festival is young adults spending good money: it's a very pricey festival. And the city of Boom (nice name innit) isn't a great city to be in at all, so you'll have to stay on the festival site if you're going for the entire ride.

At any rate, I've not met anyone who regretted going so far, but it's also a festival that keeps growing and growing...how much longer 'till it is too big? Personally, I prefer the grittiness and mayhem and free-for-all of less organised alternative festivals like Dour or Tribes....

Last years line up.

this years line up so far.

It sells out quite fast. Organisation only puts a limited number of tickets on sale for foreigners because it sells out that fast. Havent been there yet though which is a real shame because I've only heard positive news about it so far...

Yes this... If you're gonna go all the way from the UK for a festival it better be Dour tbh. Always some good music off course (Squarepusher, Caribou, Mosca & many more this year) but the camping is just MAD !!!!! Only event of the year where I go all-out drug-wise because if I'm gonna do drugs, then Im gonna do them there

Yeah, second the Dour. I'm going this year as well. It's like a week before this with a better and more diverse line-up. And dirt cheap.

Ha browsing through the line-up, saw some guys I know, Hauk 'n Baum. That Parquet stage looks pretty good, + there's
Vath and Extrawelt..

Yeah, I fully endorse dour festival to be honest.
Camping ground is pretty chaotic and filthy, but unless you are terribly unlucky, you're usually surrounded by cool and alternative minded people. And if you're into drugs, you just gotta shout and someone's bound to have what u need. Don't expect to return with all your gear though, theft is common. But I only take the bare essentials with me anyway. Because of the drugs and booze, I rarely eat anything in those 4 days but the 'pain boudain' come highly recommended.

The line-up this year is quite disappointing so far, but I reckon there will still be a few additions in our little spectrum of the music.

Thursday, traditionally caters to the drum & bass heads, with usually one tent reserved for d&b exclusively.
They've got Danny Byrd and Fred V & Grafix so far, so there will be 2 or 3 big names added to that tent surely. Headliner is Squarepusher which should be a good laugh, and so far, as well on Thursday, there's Adam Beyer, so I'm expecting a few more techno names as well.

Friday will feature an R&S Records Label tent, with James Blake (dj set), Space Dimension Controller (dj set) and Lone confirmed so far. Apparently, two more R&S names will be announced later so that tent is a must see. Elsewhere on Friday, we'll have Pinch and Ikonika as well, so I expect one or two more quality dubstep/bass names to be added to that bill.

Saturday, there's going to be, unfortunately, a Circus Label Night in one of the tents, featuring pretty much the entire tear-out/filth/bro crew (gemini, flux, doctor p, funtcase, cookie monstah, Bar9...). So for me that's a huge disappointment. Last year they had very good balance between filth and proper dubstep but this year the balance, so far, is leaning heavily towards bro.
The good news is, Mosca is also playing a separate tent on Saturday, so I reckon he'll get some company from some other quality bass producers who are as of yet, unannounced.

Haven't really checked out Sunday but the most obscure shit is usually on Sunday, and also a lot of stoner rock/doom/sludge.
So far I'm unimpressed by this years line-up, but I reckon there will be at least another 5-6 interesting bass acts confirmed later.

Would be cool to see some of you heads there, I've not received word whether I'll receive holidays for this yet, but I'll deffo be there Friday/Saturday either way. Otherwise, it's the regular Wednesday-Sunday rampage :)

Yes, go to Dour. It's not 100% certain I'm going again this year but I reckon I will.

Also about Tomorrowland, some of my mates want to go to Tomorrowland instead of Dour.
I don't want that. Tomorrow land is way too expensive in comparison to a festival like Dour.

You totally gotta go Nils. We need to compensate for Pukkelpop 2010. I spent more time lookin' for you than actually chillin'.

You going to Clash of the Cultures in Ghent btw? I'll be hitting it up with my Belgian friends! Line-ups pretty cool.

Ouch that Dour line-up :( Agoria, Adam Beyer and Koan sound I guess.
I know there's more names coming but look at the Exit line-up for example.

Blindly bought my lowlands ticket again, interesting to see what they come up with this time.

its to expensive for what you get, you better go to dour it's much cheaper it's 4 days and the line up is always much better
It's about dropping a track at the wrong speed, and it sounding better than the real thing.

Tomorrowland look really really gay

Dour was good when I went a few years back. The campsite stank of piss but the music and atmosphere was top notch.

Dour is the best festival I've ever been to outside southern England. Go to Dour.

I totally want to go, all depends on my friends being stnuc or not.
And no I'm not going to clash of the cultures.
