id kinda agree with that, pretty much what i used to alwways say, like i mix almost better when im abit tipsy. but then there was that time............you just go abit too far and end up stopping the wrong tune twice in one set, naaah, put enough shame on you to make sure never ever to do that again hehe :a:

lol yeah. i'll never eat mushrooms while playing again.. didn't mess me up or anything i just ended up getting really claustrophobic behind the table haha. but yeah tipsy/drunkness makes me not think about the technical things; i don't need to, i know how to mix, and just worry about what's sounding good and it definitely puts you on the same level as your audience and you can feel em a little better
haha I tried to mix a bit for my friends when we were all frying and I walked up to my CDJs, turned them on, stared at the pretty lights, then walked away :6:

if you plan to use VDJ you wont even be touching there CDJs. CDJs are not a controlelr. YOu can use timecode cds and serato with cdjs but i really dont think your going to show up and hook up like you think man.

What i would.

1. Borrow whatever interface/conroller you had been using at home, bring this to the show and use that instead of the cdjs or mouse keyboard solution.

Best soution really. 2. burn some cds up and just mix it using the cdjs. THis will be easy and Guareneteed to work... with no extra setup or laptop to worry aobut. So you can get partied up no worries or babysitting needed after the set.

No, you're going to use audio out for this (2x Stereo RCA), so since it's all analog, you don't need drivers. You'll need an audio interface that can output 2x.

But I advise you to get to the gig early and make some sound testing. Also, I'm not expert in PC DJing, I'm just a plain old CDJer.

do you want to use the cdjs or just run through their mixer?

if it's just the mixer, all you need is a 3.5mm > rca cable and plug that into the mixer's input

I want to use Traktor or VDJ for playing the music, but I want to use the mixer and cdjs as controllers for the programs

I'm no expert , but
1. You need a serato or traktor interface if you want to run time code. It's not just midi or something. The little boxes with RCA in/out is what I'm picturing.
2. I don't think the mixer will do anything with your laptop software under any circumstances, and it doesn't need to really.
