i agree. if you have 4 years of experience in FL and don't know how to make something "low and deep" sounding, then you're fucked.ehbrums1 wrote:im gonna go out on a limb and say he was talking out his ass on the whole 4 years of skill ting.....

judging off of what the op has asked I'm surprised he can open up fl let alone attempt to learn it...Eat Bass wrote:i agree. if you have 4 years of experience in FL and don't know how to make something "low and deep" sounding, then you're fucked.ehbrums1 wrote:im gonna go out on a limb and say he was talking out his ass on the whole 4 years of skill ting.....

Re: Melodies, Vocals before drop!
thanks for the plugin recommendation, sounds like something cool to experiment with. yay free plugs. the same guy makes a plug called s(m)exescope or something like that, it analyzes sounds and displays an updating waveform. awesome for midi that you dont want to flatten or to see how Fx effect the waveform, like compression.

Problem not knowing what to do for bass drop.
Hey Guys, I've made some intro's for brostep tunes with buildups and all but I keep having this one problem:
After the buildup, I never know what to do for the first bassline/wobble.
It's like, if I put a sound, it never fits in there.
Got any tips for the first wobble/bassline after the buildup?
Also, I can never seem to make a proper arrangement of wobbles/basslines to make a brostep tune, like they never fit together.
Any tips on making them fit together better?
Thanks

So I should just stick a sub bass under all the basslines from the first bassline to the last to make them flow better together?johney wrote:sub bass

Just make loud and obnoxious sounds with a sub underneath

have the low end presence be like 30% of what the drop will have. then highpass out that before the drop happens. Not always about the strength of the drop itself, but the lack of strength from everything playing before it happens.
Honestly tho, just the way you describe your attempt at a process comes across as so paint-by-numbers, it's no wonder you're getting stuck. Screw around and have fun instead of following a formula a-to-b.

Honestly, "Learn synthesis" is the correct answer! No guff.ehbrums1 wrote:Who needs that c'mon now..Hircine wrote:learn synthesis

Well it's common to have bass on a bass drop so yeah. (cut the lows on your leads and make a separate track with sub playing the same notes as leads etc etc)OttoMatik wrote:So I should just stick a sub bass under all the basslines from the first bassline to the last to make them flow better together?johney wrote:sub bass

Re: Problem not knowing what to do for bass drop.
stop worrying about wobbles/lfos/automation. Just find/make a bass patch but dont wobble it at first, write your basslines melody and musical phrasing first. Then after you have the melody down and flowing right edit the shit out of lfos/envlopes and get creative with your lfo partterns and sequences. DOnt jsut rinse and repeat the same 1/4th wobble into 1/8th wobble over and over. Really cut the midi up over several instances of your bass synth just with different rate variations. THis is how i do my basslines and its just gotten easier. The less i worry about raging face right away and focus on melody and musical stuff then you make that music rage your face off lol. Its easier to fit lfos together when you have the big picture (melodY) sketeched already too.
