There's a guy on DOA who made a makeshift template in FL for a z-plane. PM if you have FL and I'll try to find the template file for you. I haven't tried it (just haven't had the chance) but the responses he got from people who did use it were pretty good.

Love the sound of it as well, although it is a massive cpu hog.johney wrote:Smartelectronix Ambience

brainworx solo for listening to the mid and side separately and controlling the level of the side signal so you can make things wider or mono. also voxengo span for a good free spectrum analyzer.

Updated the gui.
It sounds a bit better imo.

Re: The Freeware Appreciation Thread
Oh gosh, im such a freeware junky. I literally spend days just downloading loads and loads of random plugins and testing them out, I have hundreds.
Im a fan of TAL Noise Maker and Elektro, plus TAL's Dub and Delay plugs.
Zebralette is kickass.
There is a really sweet modular synth I cant remember the name of... something like Assault, or Attack or something. I love the waveforms in that.
Sonigen Modular is sexy as well.
Minimogue is a really good Moog emulator. Actually, for almost all famous vintage synthesizers I have an emulator. I have countless 303 ones.
I also found a sweet 808 emulator... absolutely groovy. Plus a sequencer.
dBlue Glitch is amazing as well. Camel bitcrushers. RoughRider, Rude Compression, DirtyGirl...
ARGH SO MANY i cant list them all. My VST plugins folder is massive.

Re: The Freeware Appreciation Thread
it splits the audio signal into shorter bits called grains, which are then manipulated to create different effects. the most common use is timestretching, but you can take it wherever you feel like really.Immerse wrote:tbh honest, i have no idea what a granulator even does, can someone give me a lowdown?
cheers again, i love writing that blog so it's all good.

Re: The Freeware Appreciation Thread
i have had that smartelectronix granulator and all i could get out of it was absolutely horrid/abstract noises, are you supposed to be able to make pads and such with granular synthesis or just crazy effects?
