Just got a numark cdmix1 wtf is next?

I have been dabbling about with producing for about a yer now and just snagged a CDs console and am wonderring what I need to start having my own party's. Space is currently tight for I live and work on a boat in Tampa but I'm about to move into a house. Any suggestions on speakers and what wires il need to make everything happen. Any hello iOS greatly apreciated. If there is already a thread for this please do not hesitate to direct me there

You need to learn how to DJ

A decent pair of studio monitors is all youll need to practice on... Those things have balanced and AV out I believe, so yeah. Whatever inputs your monitors have, you need that cable, and it goes from the mixer, into the monitors. Its literally as simple as hooking up a VCR man.
Then learn to beatmatch, and throw that thing away. Your unlikely gonna be rockin parties with a 6db EQ. Learn the basics on it and upgrade fast.

Visit speakerplans.com and read up about the components of a PA if you actually wanna build like, a system, one day, after you learn alot more.

ive never understood why dj's need studio monitors, can someone please fill me in? if he wants to have parties id reccomend him spending money on big speakers, as opposed to reference speakers if hes not producing. dj's dont use them when djing outside their home, so why have them to practice on? im sure i must be missing something

yeah this, I mean obviously it's ideal to hear the sound really cleanly and with a flat response, but for DJing honestly wouldn't any old loudspeakers do?

it is pretty pointless using monitors to mix with

all that matters is the speakers you are using a sufficiently loud & the sound is clean
