alexeyhermann - Good production quality, but I'd like to hear the vocals take up more of the mix, or at least alternate between the bass and voice being the focus of the song. As it is now, I think you could probably just take the vocals out and the effect would be the same.

Scy7he - nice rhythmic quality, although the drop seems too sudden. You might want to put a limiter on your master track to boost the volume as well.

AirFee - I like the swells of the hi-hats and it has a nice ambiance, which seems like what you were going for. It might not hurt to have a subtle melody in there somewhere though.

Here's my latest. I started off with Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 5, and then just kinda went from there. Let me know what you think :)

@Sonic Arts : Love the video game feel man just my two cents but i think it'd sound nice at a faster bpm :)
@Scy7he : Cool sounds man i think you need a punchier kick but overall pretty grimey !
@alexeyhermann : track sounds a bit airy i'd like the vocal to be more prominent in the mix but good job over all.

I hadn't produced anything in a while because i couldn't acquire proper workflow. Finally vowed to myself to put together a little section of what would be a drop in a dubstep song. Hope for some constructive criticism and hope you guys like it. I made the kick and snares myself aside from synthesizing all other sounds too. wanted to make this piece as original as possible

@Sonic Arts : hahaha dude solid sound you got kickin there im loving the "game" vibes. totally makes me wanna throw down a chiptune track tonight... i think i might ;)
@Scy7he : im liking the hip hop feel it carries with it, but the drums could use some compression, or just bring everything else down then compress the master.
@acrap - tone it down a little man, kinda too much at once, and it doesnt really "fuse" together, dont know if thats what you were going for but its just so much at once.
i really get a zeds dead feel from it. and dont get me wrong its good, just try and make it more "one" if you get what im saying.

well, last week i was noodlin around with a 95 bpm track you all seemed to like (dont worry its finished just waitin on my vocalist to do his magic ;)
this week i spiced the bpm up again by bringing it up to 105 bpm
let me know what you think, the mixdown was done with laptop speakers because im out of town atm. this was done on the road. let me know some thanngss and ill return all your feedback with feedback (sick deal right ?! )

Feedback for others:
@Specimen-Yarp: Nice drums and atmosphere, I feel the ride is a littl distracting as it's panned so far right. I also feel a more subtle build would help emphasise the drop. I'm listening on headphones, but as for mixdown - basses/synths sound good alongside the drums, although the snare could do with being slightly louder and more in your face. One final idea, not sure how well it would work at 105bpm, but perhaps a double time (effectively dnb style) section may sound cool!
@acrap: Not my sort of thing, but everything needs mixing/eq'ing/sidechaining - I totally lost the drums because the synths are so loud. Perhaps try and add a litle more melody to your ideas too. Nice loop though.
@Sonic Arts: I like when people refix classical tunes, nice chops and glitches. I really like this, mainly because of the actual melody. I feel your synths could be varied a little more, maybe try some more realistic/organic instruments - everything sounds a little Nintendo-esque after you cut the strings. Excellent job though man!
@alexeyhermann: Not sure about the intro - everything is a little harsh, there's a lot of treble from what I can hear and it's quite piercing. Basses sound good, but I don't like the vocals over the basses - I'd interchange the two. The vocals also sound kind of highpassed/eq'd weirdly - try and get them to sit better in the mix.
@Scy7he: The guitar in my track was from a sample pack :) As for your track, kind of a hip-hop feel on the intro. I feel like you need to beef everything up and add some midrange/melodies. Also try and beef up your kick/snare. Good ideas though.

A new progressive house track from me, thoughts? BtwI know it perhaps needs more variation :P

Track was mixed on headphones, and very roughly mastered, some things probably sound shitty on other peoples systems.

Any comments, feedback and plays/comments on SoundCloud is really appreciated :)

Thanks. :W:

Sonic Arts: Hahaha! Holy shit, pretty creative tune! Love that sort of 8-bitish accordion like sound(btw, how'd you get it? Sounds like Squares, Saws and vibrato?) Get your drums phat and work out slight kinks in the structure (get transitions involved, etc) I'm not sure what advice I could give because I presume you'd move towards doing what I've mentioned already :/ That lead is really sick. Dig the idea. FINISH IT!

Specimen-Yarp : 2 tips - In the intro, make more reference to the main bassline you have going. filter it in and feature it a bit more. The main sound/bassline seems a bit too spread and a bit missing in the centre. try phattening it up and maybe make a mono version of that bassline and place it over the original one? Also, personally, the sporadic other basslines sound/timbre(specifically one of them) don't resonate with me well, I'd advise to look at other bassline sounds or lessen on the sporadicness.
otherwise. FUCKING TUNE.

alexeyhermann: Build up the tune, it needs transitions, the break is out of nowhere, the listener isn't lead in nor out into other parts. The drums. The drums. NEED TO BE BIG. otherwise, synthesis is rad. Chopping of vocals is rad too.(ps. the cymbal is way too high and might be floating into frequencies it shouldn't.)

Well, here's mine. :)

@Phizicist Your snare and your kick definitely sound amazing - not sure about the hat though - something about the pattern didnt seem right. Your drop sounds great, especially the part at 1:05.

@mthrfnk - Nice bass at 0:45 - Everything sounds really tight, as far as i can tell. Question, are you using a compressor/pumping? Sounds Great!

@Specimen-Yarp - The bass that hits at 0:36 sounds awesome - i have a hard time believing you mixed it on laptop speakers lol. My only complaint is that the part from 1:15 to 1:48 seemed a bit to empty to be that long - is that where you are going to drop the vocals?

Here is mine, I posted this a few pages back but i have redone most of the song since then. It is a remix of 9 inch nails the hand that feeds - any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, all the synths are sidechained and I have a shit ton of compressors running on everything

I'll give your track a listen through tomorrow :W:

@Airfree- Sick vibes and nice heavy sub! I'm really impressed with the clarity of the mix as well!

@Specimen-Yarp- Really nice glitch-hop. I think the drums could use some more girth, but nice composition/sequencing :)

@npcompl33t- The track could use some overall beefing up and I think the vocals could be brought down in the mix, but nice track overall!

So, for my newest track, I'm trying to dip more into the older style garage-y/burial type dubstep. Trying to move away from brostep.
Let me know what you think!

Yo, first time Logic user, this is the first tune i've started working on. Not mastered whatsoever yet, strictly headphone business at the moment-let me know what you think/and ideas or advice would be much appreciated! Thanks, Nick (Descent)

@Acro Intro pad is nice love the movement aswell just at the right spot. Atmosphere throughout the intro is perfect sets a lovely vibe. The vocal sample with the delay take that off and use a female one imo it will be more vibey. drum need a bit of a cleaner eq but I do like the arrangement. I'd recommend using a rimshot or a light perc for the snare the splashyness doesn't fit in with the whole vibe. Maybe expriment with the shaker and hat layouts just go give it a bit more of a swing. I do like what you have though keep up the good work!

@npcompl33t not really feeling it to be 100% honest. not my kind of thing but I can appreciate the work you put in. the drums and top end need a cleaner eq just so they are a bit tighter. I'd recommend putting some reverb on the vocals just so it gives it more space. the rest sounds cool. (I'm anti-brostep sorry lol)

@Phizicist Not really feeling it intro's a bit cheesy for me but it works with the whole wobble thing. mid bass is spot on sounds just right sub works well drums are clean something my friends who love that sound would dig. finish it off!

A little dnb project I been working on, heard it so much my opinion is a bit distorted. any feedback appreciated! thanks.

@Ultronic

Pretty cool, seems compressed and distorted a bit, but can't really hear the kick but all and all sounds pretty different and unique.

Just an intro, I don't know if I like it or not.

Feedback for others:
@npcompl33t: Bring down the vocals and bring them into the mix more. Overall I'd say things need mixing better: the drums up, vocals down, the crash way down. Basses/synths sound nice though. Cool track man.
@Acro: Chill intro, really nice. Not too keen on the vocals though tbh, I don't think you need them. Drums are nice as are the melodies, maybe throw around someshakers or rides. Not much else to suggest tbh, nice track :W:
@InTheCrowd: Track is offline.
@Ultronic: You're meant to give feedback to 3 other people first, but since your track is in a similar style to mine here goes: Intro is quite cool, the guitar works nicely. Cymbals are quite nice too, maybe bring them down a touch. Overall you need to beef everything up in the intro, and bring your basses down a touch. Nice ideas man :W:
@ZankUSA: You're meant to give feedback to 3 other people first...

Thanks for the advice all! I did change up the snare hit and percussion a bit. Also, I'm thinking of changing my production name from Marathon. If anyone has any ideas based upon my style, I'd love to hear them! :D

@npcompl33t:Vocals are too high, you could probably mix them down a tad and probably change the pitch a bit. Mix up a little better and it should be perfect keep it up!
@Acro: Sick intro man, really chill but I don't really enjoy the vocals.
@Ultronic Guitar into is sick man, the drums and everything else seems a bit distorted but it's pretty unique.

@ZankUSA: Really nice vibes, sounds superb! The only thing that sounds off to me is how the last half of the sample before the drop is a lot quieter than the first half.

@mthrfnk: Guitar sounds sick, very unique track! The wobble might sound a little distorted, but I've been working on my WIP for the past few hours so it could just be my ears too

@Ultronic: I like the sound of it! You need to get the drums to punch through in the mix a bit more. A bit of EQing and turning down some of the other parts of the tune should fix that ;-)

Here's my WIP. If you've ever played the Mass Effect series, this should make sense to you ;-) Basically though I'm making this tune, then I'm going to do a video with it and its going to go onto the machinima.com youtube channel.

@Sine69 : Sound design is good, but there's a lack of EQ for your drums. You need to add some more SFX too, give you track some life.

@Zankusa : Intro is decent, but the main part need a real sub. There's something wrong on the last synth shot too. It seems being out of the key. your drums need more presence too.

@mthrfnk : You blasted my ears... That guitar is far too loud. Your hats a piercing and way too loud. The idea is good, but it now deserves a more decent mixdown ( ps : High cut these hats please, my dog is going insane )

@ Other people : Your tracks are unavailable sorry ;)

My new WIP, very chilled one ( no OY OY, no PEW PEW PEW, no noisy random bassline full of formant used unproperly ). I can't even say if I will finish this one.
