The prodigy was the first live DJ set, first dubstep gig was skream playing the second room with noisia in the main room back in 07. The club was wayyyyyyy past capacity to a dangerous level but it added to the night still

N-Type in January 2010. He was touring with pendulum... At that point, I had been listening to da bro for a few months, and only kinda knew who he was. Wasnt really interested n pendulum, just wanted to see a dubstep dj, which was a rare sighting in Seattle for the under 18 crowd.
Needless to say, I lost my shit during that set, was back when he was playing those techy skream bangers and the stuff from his rinse mix cd. I knew none of the tracks, but loved every single one of them.
Haha I remember during the car ride back home telling my friend "we should really start listening to more of the real, Uk dubstep"
lololololololol

I had been listening for well over a year though...
I don't got to clubs often these days because of the bro issue...

For me it was at a jungle show around late 2006, and I was like damn, some slowed down techno with hip hop influence, never really knew it as dubstep back then, and I dont think I heard it for a while after that

Joker in '09 or '10 i think.
I hadn't managed to get my good friends into dubstep by that point so instead went with a few girls from work who I wouldn't exactly call my best buds, but by that point, I would've have been willing to go with Lucifer himself if it meant I could go.
Luckily that has changed and it's now sometimes a case of my friends dragging me out to nights rather than the other way round!

DMZ played last March as well come to think of it with drlego playing support. They love Ireland so hopefully we can get them back soo enough
Tell them to play out up here in the North, can't guarantee a large crowd but I'll be there

Demon from the M.U.D gang back in 08 I think. Stink Like Sock @ a lil pub in Hitchin before they started doing nights at the junction.
This got dropped. And the rest as they say is history.

Re: Who was the first dub step DJ / Producer you saw live ?
I didn't know who was playing, but I think it might have been Headhunter. Fairly sure Youngsta was on later though.
This was at the last FWD before the smoking ban in 2007.
Edit: Holy Shit! Just found out what the line-up for that night was:

No wonder I was hooked into dubstep immediately!

I saw Martyn a couple months ago. It was awesome. I wish I lived somewhere with a little more of a scene though.

First experience was seeing skream b2b benga back in 08 playing at gatecrashers summer soundsystem festival. I went there for the drum and bass, but i have to admit most of the djs where dropping chase and status - eastern jam . Anyway after walking into that particular tent, that was it! I absolutely loved it
out tonight to see soap dodgers and benton. Still on it

I'm sure someone is going to try and piss further than me by informing me that they're not true dubstep or something but the first live dubstep performance I saw was Bassnectar and Diplo in the blue disco lounge on Jam Cruise in 2007. 'twas pretty tight.
Hung out with Lorin a bunch and got some good tips on Abelton Live. Eventually I did a Breaks remix of his track 'Snakecharmer'.
