I wouldn't risk it, not if you stand to make a dime off that track somehow... if you really need it, isolate and approximate.

Hip Hop Sounds Help
Hey,
I'm looking right now for sounds including drum kits for hip hop but am struggling to find a place to start to find any. I do not mind buying them or getting free packs. I have been making hip hop for quite some time now but have a huge lack of sounds. Also does anyone know any good hip hop production forums I could join? I remember thedubstepforum used to have a section for hip hop but it is now gone.

Check out the 9th Wonder kit, just Google it. It's easy to find.
Just searching Google for hiphop samples might work actually.
I don't really know about hiphop forums though, I know futureproducers.com has a decent hiphop community but it is a really inactive forum.

^ That's my thread, it has a pack of samples I made for hip hop/rap and it even has some dubstep stuff in there like snares and kicks.

Many Thanks For This! Know any places to find orchestra sounds and synths? I mainly interested in making trap music like Lex Luger & Southside right now but have barely any sounds to go down that direction. Man I miss the old hip hop section on this forum.ChadDub wrote:http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f ... e#p2705799

Be a true hip hop producer and sample them yourself?JAG95 wrote:Many Thanks For This! Know any places to find orchestra sounds and synths? Re: Hip Hop Sounds Help
I'm sure I have some but I'm too lazy to find them and give them to you. Trap music sucks anyway so don't even bother. I used to be all up into trap but then I realized it's just the same beat over and over. I can tell you how to make the bass for it though. Main sine at the sub note you want, another sine at like 20% volume 17 semitones above your main sine, and then another sine a little under the volume of the second sine 12 semitones above your main sine. Very rare

I have many ideas for sampling but have no idea how to do it in FL Studio. Sigh.....Brothulhu wrote:Be a true hip hop producer and sample them yourself?JAG95 wrote:Many Thanks For This! Well start learning. It couldn't be any easier than in flstudio.

Mammoth, your sig cracks me up every time I read it. I'm fine until "Bengo" then I lose it
Re: Hip Hop Sounds Help
I giggle at kode8 but bengo is just golden

As long as your use of the copywritten material is a) used in a transformative manner, or b) cannot cause damage to the original party (best achieved by not seeking profit from the work) it's fair game under the 'fair use' exception to copyright law... but the caveat is you'll have to read the 'fair use' policy of your country.
Here's a good place to start.

That being said, you can totally use those beyonce/la roux drums if you're not trying to make money off of it, or if they are changed or used in some way that makes them unrecognizable.
And thanks for the pack Chad

Don't think it matters, but this is not entirely true.Triphosphate wrote:As long as your use of the copywritten material is a) used in a transformative manner, or b) cannot cause damage to the original party (best achieved by not seeking profit from the work) it's fair game under the 'fair use' exception to copyright law... but the caveat is you'll have to read the 'fair use' policy of your country.
