Wood blocks

Post by dustyjeeves » Mon Mar 05, 2012 8:06 pm

Hi all. I'm sorry to post about this again as I know it's a thread that has cropped up in the past. However, I am desperate for some wood blocks and was sad to see that the mediafire link for the sample pack that Echoi posted a couple of years back has long expired. I was wondering if anyone could spare any decent block samples, or, even better, whether anyone who grabbed Echoi's block kit last time round might be willing to re-up it? I'd be happy to exchange for something if you have requests. Thanks so much in advance... :)

try home depot or lowes. buy a 4ft 2x4 and cut a few different length sized pieces of wood and start smashing them together

If I was gonna do some field recording, it'd be much cheaper to take a walk to the woods

sometimes an iphone recording can work bro. people try and put virtual artifacts in their sounds all the time. nothing wrong with some natural artifacts from a shitty mic, you dont always need a amazing recording setup. iv seen tons of people that carry around a shitty tape recorder or use their phones. of coarse it depends on the context of a song but yeah you get the idea...

I hear ya man, Ive been thinking of this for quite some time.. I heard some people talking about this in an interview (I think it might have been Kryptic Minds).. It's a beautiful day I mite get stoned as fuck and do this.. I'll be sure to post them if I do.

Yeh it was Kryptic minds - they went down to the woods and battered some decaying wood and recorded it on their phone for 'Organic'. think it was on their producer masterclass or something.
