Pitching vocal samples HELP!
I am trying to insert a vocal sample into a song of a different key. I tried adjusting the pitch of the vocal by ear but I can't get it.
Is there a program or a way to do it without getting major headaches? Thanks.

in logic there are plugs that (not always super accurately) tell you the key of sample/song and pitch them. So identify the key of the song, put the pitch shifter plug on and adjust. (not at cpu to remember the actual name of the plugs and not sure what other daws have them stock but there are definitly tools out there to work this out). Reaper also lets you change the pitch via a menu without changing the time, which is the first problem you will have with a sampler, once you have identified the key of the song melodyne could work well also, but theres gotta be a cheaper and easier plug in out there for this simple of a task imo.

Re: Pitching vocal samples HELP!
could be wrong cause I never spent much time fiddling with it, but if you're having to repitch every note, it's probs gonna sound tpain-ish or robotic. maybe not though. Might not matter if it's only in 1 part of the song or something.
Re: Pitching vocal samples HELP!
To use the Melodyne plugin, drag it onto your track and the program should pop up and ask you to enter Stand Alone, Rewire or Bridge. I choose Bridge and play the audio, it imports it into Melodyne.JTMMusicuk wrote:can melodyne be used as a plugin???? im looking at it online and it looks like a daw type thing

I think it's around 200. Powerful program though.

If you're using ableton, use the complex pro mode on your sample. This is efficient !

It's easier to rewrite a song around a vocal than to repitch a vocal to a song.

Yeah, I noticed.sketchyderek wrote:It's easier to rewrite a song around a vocal than to repitch a vocal to a song.
And I use FL Studio. It seems unreasonable though, there is gotta be a simple VST for doing this sort of work.

but in all seriousness, pitch correction is anything but a simple to get realistic results, you have software/plugins like melodyne which do a great job at this so it's barely noticeable, and you have substandard stuff like autotune which sounds ridiculous and is easy to spot
