@ Hero Liked the way it's composed together, didn't find it too repitive or boring.. i liked the part at :023.

@Grok Sounded like Nero, nice job, very chrisp!

@ LiquidBass Very nice intro, like the way the song is going! Keep to your plan!

Just an experimental orchestra style of "bass" music.. nothing serious just a cool little thing I sort of liked. xD

@zankusa bass is smooth mate, vibrates my headphones which is always a good thing!
@dj higgumz the levels are good, but i think you need a breakdown to keep the track flowing, and maybe another instrument with another melody to keep the ear entertained
@byteme got some interesting sounds going on, nice, mixdown sounds clean, id just add a bit of reverb or even some unison to open the sound up a bit and fill the track
@-boring love the slicey garage hi hats mate, nicely programmed, id just add a garagey chord synth in for the second half to give it that extra vibe

Heres mine, first time ive properly sent a track through ozone 4..
If you leave the feedback on the soundcloud link, ill give you feedback on yours! :)

@LukeRaith Choon, mate. Proper chilled vibes, but I'm hearing a fair amount of hiss [could just be me hehe] Also, I'd say make the vox a bit brighter, and you have yourself a quality track, mate =] Good stuff!

@-boring Yes! Awesome vibes! It seems like the bass is overpowering the kick a bit, though. and those backspins could probably use a HPF imo. The percs are just awesome, and is that some water bubbling in the background ;] I like all the little additions of sound, this is great, can't wait to hear the finished version!

@ZankUSA DAT BASS! You have a great start here. I won't criticize the mixdown so much, since this was just a quick experiment, so take this more as a thumbs up, and continue to push in the direction you're headed!

Track that I've been working on as of late. It started out as a VIP, but I've added so many changes, it might as well be it's own ting! Hmm...."War Bounce" sounds like a pretty good title for it, no?

Comments on soundcloud.

@LukeRaith "Wow, this is just so damn smooth. So calm.. amazing work man."
@Grok "I like it.. It reminds of me of something you'd hear in an old video game, perhaps Sonic. Very cool man, keep 'em coming."
@Zank "Nice, I like this a lot. Melody gives kind of an 80's vibe.. overall very nice work."

I haven't been able to work on anything for months now. This is something I started today.. still very raw.
Hope you enjoy, if not I appreciate any feed back.

Dookie- great atmosphere on that build up before the sample you might try to duplicate it and reverse it to help blend the sample more

Pyrez-Very unique tune you might try adding more atmosphere maybe get some army samples and time stretch them.

Zank- it does have a very 80s feel but I like that and the strings are nice they would even make a good oriental themed tune.

ok so I'm doing the pokemon tune comp and am writing for Rhyhorn and Rhydon, the general Idea is that he is playing and exploring then gets into a battle and then evolves and swaggas off with a bunch of pokebabes.

I've been wanting to get into dungeon tunes so I figured this would be a good opportunity for me to try something new, this one still turned out pretty bro-e

creepfinger - impacts, risers etc. you need those, and vary the mood of the song a bit. sound a bit monotone.

DookieHowserOG - really feeling the tune, can offer much advice aside from more interesting percussion?

LukeRaith - huge! i love the the way the vocal sit in the. Personnally i would use another kick sample. Sounds great though!

Here's an attempt at a deeper song, the vocals will probably be removed for the final version :cornlol:

Ok, I'd like to start with a little disclaimer. I've just started out, so please be kind. In terms of arrangement I know where some of the flaws lie, that I will figure out by myself although any comments are welcome. What I'm concerned about is mainly that I've got the levels right, etc, that I'm heading in the right direction with it. If it helps, especially when creating the first portion of the track I was making it with the idea of having someone spit bars over it (few mates are mcs). This actually took me a fair bit of courage to show for judgement here. Look forward to feedback, thanks :)

@ Splitz - Please comment on at least 3 other tracks before posting feedback, seeing as your new, and I'm not an antagonizing prick, I'll leave you some feedback anyway. not a bad start, nice idea which is cool. sounds like your using fruity loops or something? not too sure about the drum pattern, and you should definitely spend a day or two playing around with a plugin known as EQ (Equalizer) Maybe download some drum samples and make your own and stuff. At the end of the day though, its a good idea, which after years of producing, doesn't come around too often, so hang onto it and keep up the work.

@ Blorg - really nice drums and drone sounds in the background of the intro. vocals don't seem to sit to well in the mix but I like the style of vocals. should definitely switch things up at 55 seconds. layer it up with something else and switch the drums up and stuff. the delays and stuff are really nice, I think increase the mid eq of the vocals to make it sit nicely in the mix, add some reverb too etc, and personally I don't think you should remove them at all. will be interesting to see where this goes.

@ Creepfinger - this is interesting, has a very classical vibe to it. the beginning drags on a bit, and the drums don't really fit in to well. it's a shame that the wobbles are so quiet aswell, would be nice if they hit a lot harder. or I think its your cymbals and hats that are a bit too loud for the rest of the mix. I'm not exactly listening to this through good monitors, but I don't hear much reverb on the drums, which i think would give you a much more dungeony effect.

Here is my latest WIP. bit of a joke, but let me know what you think of the concept.

@ bl0rg – sounds pretty damn good so far, all I can really think of is maybe add some lush reverb to that snare but that’s just my personal preference. Also the drums sound just a tad too robotic, maybe shift your hats a little to get more swing/human feel. Once again its just a personal preference

@ creepfinger – interesting concept with the pokemon. Really fits the style of rhyhorn except it lacks his intensity. I mean think about how fucking insane a rhyhorn would get in a battle. Maybe add some variations to the bass to make it less monotone?

@ 1stfiest – wow you managed to make an incredibly annoying sample into something pretty catchy. Haha no offense. I just can’t deal with that vocal sample at the beginning. Its pretty groovy, but I would definitely kill the vocals if you’re trying to make a serious song haha

here's a track i can't decide if it's finished or not. let me know what you think

@ 1stfiest, woops, I didn't realise... sort of forgot to check the etiquette in my anxiety of having my first track out for judgement. Thanks for the feedback, I have much to learn but am glad you like the idea. :) I'll provide my thoughts on three tracks now. Now, I'm loving the sub and the synth towards the end I appreciated the most, not convinced about the silly vocals, they're not consistent with the vibes the rest of the tune gives off. Also quite like the sparseness of the drums but maybe they could be a little more punchy.

@ mtl6, the idea I liked the most was the sudden change of pace towards near the beginning. The synths aren't my cup of tea personally, but the actual melody is nice and bouncy. Perhaps a little extra fx in there might flesh the track out a fair bit

@ bl0rg, menacing as hell, appreciate that vibe. My ears aren't really tuned enough to pick out anything wrong with it except the vocals perhaps should pop out a bit more with slightly less reverb, although I think you should keep them in the track personally.

@creepfinger - I like how this all comes together over time, the way you introduce the new elements doesn't feel too lazy or anything, like there's genuinely a story line unfolding. Something about the dissonance after the drop (or whatever you crazy kids are calling it these days) rubs me the wrong way though, I feel like this track needs to be a little more rooted to a tone or scale because it starts to meander after a while. The sub is also a little too loud i think. However, I like the way the faster percussion comes in at the end, good job with the groove! It's a cool sounding tune overall, very interesting, but still needs a lot of work imo.

@mtl6 - I like the melody! This is a really upbeat sounding track, the way the synths work together is very nice. The little mood change in the middle is super nice too, but I feel like it would have a much greater effect if there was a little more build to it, it seems to come out of nowhere. I think the drums could be a little crisper, they sound too loose in the top end especially, I think tightening that up would give the track better movement, cuz it's lacking some energy. I'd definitely finish it if I were you though, show it some love and you've got a pretty nice track on your hands!

@DookieHowserOG - This is awesome! The production quality is great, the drop hits pretty hard and the intro is really smooth. I especially like how you brought the vocal sample in. I was having a hard time figuring out where this one was going in the beginning, very nice use of contrast. I'm not sure what else to say though, this is pretty solid so far. Now go finish it!

Okay, here's something I started yesterday. I've been listening to the new Clubroot album a ton lately and I think you can tell :D Any feedback is greatly appreciated, but keep in mind that it's far from being done so the mix and structure is still a little rough. Also, I just realized one of the bass notes at the end is a semitone off  so just ignore that...

@1stfeist - kick is way too loud. Stands out above everything else. Basses need to be brought up substantially. Also, hat layout needs some attention, it feels quite odd at times.
@mtl6 - reminds me of happy hardcore. haha. Snare seems to lack a lot of top end which makes it sound muffled. Same with the kick - it's like you've taken out a heap of the tone of both samples, which doesn't work in your favour.
@hudson - nice man, though I think some of the percussion needs some re-arrangement. That 4x4 kick to me doesn't quite suit it. Also seems to lack some "sparkle" in the top end. Lovely sample choice though, really love those vocals and the back ground atmospherics.
@bl0rd - if you're going for a deeper sound, don't use "club" samples ;) Your bassline whomp, I'd move the cutoff down about 10%, keep those sounds real low if that's what you're going for.
@creepfinger - dungeon tunes... yours ain't. That melody completely destroys any attempt at it. Your bass also needs some work. Dungeon tunes are meant to sound evil, malicious, and intent on some kind of danger. You have elements there that completely go against that feeling of "trouble ahead". If you want to do this, get the percussion (your kick is way too bouncy for a dungeon tune) right, then work with just a sub line. Then add atmospherics and add midrange bass to suit.

Tune I nearly finished tonight. Like always, deep. This one is a relaxer.

]@creepfinger - Interesting, like how it comes together, just needs a bit more work.. touch ups and stuff, give more atmo.

@mtl6 - Nice choice of melody, really upbeat track, it's just lacking energy!

@DookieHowserOG - This is pretty good man, sounds very nice. Bass hits me like BOOM and It's just a very smooth production. xD . you gonna finish it?

EDIT: Sorry guys, didn't see the rules

@ExileUK - Nice tune, feeling the sfx, maybe brighten up the bass a little?

@Subfect - Deeeep, maybe use some offbeat hi hats? I could picture some garagey beat under that.

@1stFiest - Lol! I love the baby monkey sample. Maybe add more within the lead bass?

Unmastered and unmixed. Let me know what you guys think :corntard:
