massive: add unison on 4 or 8 and then spread the pitch on a sawwave.
not the first time iv had to do a translation in massive language

The bass around 1:01!
Do a youtube search for "house plucky synth". Basically it's a standard supersaw with an envelope with a fast attack and fast decay modulating the cutoff on the lowpass filter. Add some chorus to widen the sound and some distortion and that should get you close. Pretty simple sound honestly.CCBDubstep wrote:CCBDubstep wrote:WTF IS THIS?

I know why it is easier than i thought, because i told you the wrong sound.
I meant the sound at 1:02, the rising bass. THANKS

i was talking about the sound on 1:01 not 1:02, which was just a plain supersawCCBDubstep wrote:sunny_b_uk wrote:english: its a supersaw, there shouldnt have to be a tutorial for a supersaw because its just a waveform lol.

so the like uplifting , reverbed out sound is just a supersaw? sounds more complex than that >.>
thanks for thissunny_b_uk wrote:i was talking about the sound on 1:01 not 1:02, which was just a plain supersawCCBDubstep wrote:sunny_b_uk wrote:english: its a supersaw, there shouldnt have to be a tutorial for a supersaw because its just a waveform lol.

the sound your talking about is probably a supersaw or maybe another waveform with unison and pitch spread, then try using scream filter in massive with performer & use some of the more rapid waveforms with 2 or 3 cycles in the wave (the sharp looking ones, they will sound plucky since they are quite sharp)
tweak the amount of the performer to the cut off enough so it plucks/hits hard
have the res up a bit and place the "scream" and res wherever you feel. also the pitch of the synth is gliding as well
obviously im not gona explain the whole process by typing but im mentioning the key factors of the sound should be enough

Thats the smartest thing said about making baslinesflatfaced wrote:really important thing(almost as important as the sounddesign of the bass) is the movement and how it fits the track...You need to gain some groove out of it with filters(especially BP because they're boosting certain harmonics when sweeping), notes, pitches, volume, pan, other synth or FX parameters etc...I mean work on that as much as on the quality of the sound by itself(because they're almost equally important)...I think thats one of the missing parts that some ppl are struggling over(including me) for a good sounding bassline and its overlooked sometimes...If you dont believe try to make a simple 2 detuned saws thing only with some distortion(for the sounddesign part) for a couple of minutes and then spend some hours(days) fitting it in the track and make some movement and groove while the idea is fresh(instead of tweaking its sound for hours first and then trying to fit it) - work on the musicality of it and you would see that it works no matter the sound of it isnt that great...when you're happy with the result work some hours(days) on the sound if you want...then you could go back to the movement and then to the sound again until the two things are married to each other...to be more clear i should say that its good if you work on both at the same time if possible(IMO) - implement one in the other but dont underestimate neither of them and make as much as possible(especially the movement and the performance) while the idea is still new and fresh...
Am writing that because sometimes am hearing tunes where the basses are not so good soundwise but they make you dance and are groovy and you will say "what a cool bassline" without taking into an account so much its sounddesign qualities - it wouldnt even leave you thinking about such things because its interesting and hooky and fits the track properly...
of course BOTH are important but just wanted to bring some attention to the bass's movement because one of the reasons skrillex's are cool is their musicality and how they fit - he is a musician after all...
