Which controller to start with?

Post by Rascal94 » Fri May 04, 2012 12:47 am

Hey df, I've been producing for awhile now but I've gotten good enough to where people have started asking me to Dj. So at the moment I have been mixing on virtual DJ. I want to get a controller though and I have had my eyes set on the traktor s4. I've heard that its hard to learn and its a little pricey but neither would be a problem.

I would like some input from some pros though. Any ideas on any controllers for beginners that would be good enough to use in shows?

I have a Gemini Ctrl-Six. It worked with my price range and has all the stuff I needed.

I'm definitely not a pro, but if you're into the loop/effect stuff offered with Traktor, I'd go for that, but if you're looking for just a solid, basic mix, I'd go for something less expensive.

I started with a Mixtrack Pro a few months ago but I'm not wishing I'd gone with a Traktor S2 or S4
