iKaossilator plugin equivalent

Post by massimoz » Fri May 04, 2012 8:45 am

I just downloaded it for the iPad and iPhone and my god it's a brilliant app. Instant inspiration!

And the thing, so easily it makes sounds that I could spend hours trying to make - like automating filters and getting notes to slide across a scale.

So I was wondering, are there any creative AU plugins that are a similar all-in-one effects package that allow you to input a sound, and then you can "move it around" to change the filter and move it up and down the scale but quickly easily? I know FM8 does, but it's a lot more complex and slow to get that sound than iKaossilator.

I struggle creatively because it takes me ages to get the sound that I want. iKaossilator seems to get it in a matter of seconds

Thanks, I'll check it out now. Also, I've just tried Guitar Rig's FX for the first time since getting Komplete and they have some great gates and filters which aren't too overcomplex (like FabFilter's Volcano)

There is also the obvious Dblue Glitch (http://illformed.org/plugins/glitch/) ; which with some editing/linking to a X+Y controller; you can get kaoss-style effects.

Really though, for this kind of stuff you'll just need good FX chains, once you've done it one - save the channel strip (if your DAW allows that) and load it in each project.

Thanks. I'll look at this now too.

You mean an X+Y controller like Touch OSC?

Good idea about saving a channel strip. I might start making a load
