So, what's the best way to send some demos over to a label? I don't want to send them an e-mail and sound like a dick. What's the best way to approach them?

Check their website - they often say in the Contact section how they prefer to receive demos (some prefer CD-Rs, some prefer links to stream/DL, some prefer them sent to their Soundcloud, etc). Some may even say that they aren't currently receiving demos. If there is no mention, drop them a polite email asking if they are currently receiving demos and if so, their preferred method.

Okay :) When I send them my stuff how should I word it? I may sound like a complete noob but I've never done anything like that before. Should I introduce myself or should I just get straight to the point of sending the tracks. Also, should I mention that I'm looking to get signed or will that put them off?

Keep your correspondence brief - sometimes a quick intro is ok, but no need for more than a sentence or two. No need to mention you want to be signed, that is pretty much assumed and understood by the fact you are sending them tracks.

The best way nowadays is to spread yourself on the internet and network with as many people as possible! You might also want to look for a "Trustworthy" manager that can help expose you and that believes in you. If your manager believes in your talent then he will do the rest to get you signed!

Send the mixdown and if you want your own master of the track that way the label can get an idea of what it will sound like properly mastered, another way is to just send the track to producers to play out and stuff then labels will contact you instead as there always on the lookout for new tracks!

Be prepared to be ignored I guess haha, and maybe only send like a 1-2 minute clip to labels that way the track wont get leaked

But labels aren't going to help loads unless its a fairly well known one you might want to think about distributing yourself its easy and doesn't cost much and you keep most of the profit

For the love of God don't be either that formal or that obnoxious...but especially that formal. No one wants to feel like their time is only worth a chain mail full of half baked business jargon. This is only music, no need to stress. Especially sending tracks to blogs, it's all mostly run by a bunch of young people who are excited about the scene. Just act like a human being and be enthusiastic about the music you make, if you act fake before people even hear your music they have no reason to believe it's a genuine product.
