the ''Penny saga'' was especially entertaining
long story very short
preston MC double teams a chick in the bathroom at Preston event, takes photo's and video's, photo's get leaked, big kick off on the forum... THEN... Penny joins the forum to defend her honour, things got very messy by that point

Hahaha, I caught the very end of that. At least the world knows about the badman that is Gasface now.hutyluty wrote:I was on the future garage forum when buck uk stole a load of peoples tunes, denied it and then faked his own death. Now that was entertainment.
It's a shame too, that release of Buck UK's on Cut is sick.

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed, I've got a couple collab tracks by Ghostek and Buck UK that I play out a lotgarethom wrote:Hahaha, I caught the very end of that. Re: Forum drama
back when DOA was car buyers forum or whatever we went through a phase of putting balls on peoples chins in photoshop. I remember a very young Baron, before he was famous really getting butt hurt in chat over being nutchinned
Re: Forum drama
The Fiend and I met on a forum like... 6 or 7 years ago? Maybe more even, that was basically RIPE with drama. It was too much. I left 4 years ago because I was literally getting headaches reading that place. Everyone's insecurity was turned into everyone's problem.

When i bought some clothing from fuk.co.uk, but it never arrived. Found out later the guy was a known scammer. I made a thread calling the guy out, it got updated about 2 weeks later, someone managed to find out this dude worked in Size? clothes shop down in coventry somewhere. He ended up getting sacked + a criminal record for a string of ebay related scams.

Re: Forum drama
Bulgarian Stalker of a famous black metal band singer from the UK ( does Warrior ring a bell...) joins forum, drama begins. Death threats and restraining orders were issued some time before. This drama is still ongoing lol.
Mick J. Harris (Scorn: ad noiseam/combat...) shitting on everyone and everything, calling out London, The Bug (for which he later somewhat apologised), Shackleton, Justin K. Broadrick and his newborn son, Marry Ann Hobbs and a host of other artists.
Then folds Scorn, but manages to fuck up Ad Noiseam one more time by insulting their new distro that was going to handle all their future releases resulting in ADNO crew calling him out on Facebook because the distro dropped them.
MJH was always great fun and drama . I remember him calling me out after I tried to book him for an excursive gig in Belgium, but there was dubstep on the bill so he told me to fuck off (even though he was signed to two dubstep labels).
At least he was consequent in his hatred. And I do respect him for that. And he IS a musician pure sang, never let money take priority over his ideas and aesthetics. He's still living in a council estate in Birmingham despite being active in some of the most influential underground acts in history.

Re: Forum drama
There was this weird thing a few years ago where everyone said 'hhhayugaga8gagasaga U R NOT REAL UR JUST LETTERS ON A SCREEN INTRNET IS NOT REL LIFE LOLOLOL' but.. I mean.. the internet is real life. It's kind of like saying that talking to people face to face isn't 'irl' because it's all just vibrations in the air that we receive in our ears. So dunno.. I don't think it's weird at all.hayze99 wrote:It's strange how much internet forums affect real life shit.
People interact with each other and social interactions are the most evocative things we'll ever experience. No matter how much people try to sperg all over message boards pretending they don't care and try to turn themselves into unemphatic assholes, things people say can hurt or annoy you and to me, sound vibrations aren't inherently more important than light vibrations.
I DO keep this place at arm's length, though. There's a few cool ass people here and fairly little drama. Probably because so many users here know each other "irl" so people don't talk shit as quickly. But getting very emotionally involved with a lot of people online is fucking draining (I mean, you miss out on body language, voice tone, touch, etc. It's very limited communication, which requires extra effort). And then there's the fact that it's no fun to be reliant on your computer to have a social life. Internet friends are good, though. It's much easier to open up quickly to people online and there's only very few people you can COMPLETELY connect with in the world, let alone your own country. So it's easy to get to know them. But like everything, moderation and a proper balance is key.
I'm rambling.
