100 reasons why we don't like new rave...

Post by entheogen » Fri Jul 06, 2007 10:59 am

As we've had many hilarious previous posts in other threads why people think 'New Rave' is poo, I thought we could try and get 100 reasons to back this up. Maybe relate it to dubstep or something.

Two to start:

1. All those Hoxton Pete Docherty look-a-like cocks you hated before now think you like the same music as them.

2. Grindy

All these glowing t-shirts saying shit like "SAVE THE RAVE" or "DROP BEATS NOT BOMBS"

a; you've probably never been to a proper rave in your life, you're not entitled to campaign to save it

b; drop beats not bombs was london elektricity's slogan from the seminal d'n'b lp "billion dollar gravy", not a nu-rave catchphrase

c; FUCK OFF

Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:
Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?

They didn't look like they were having fun the other night, looked more like they were trying to figure out what sort of fun they should have. EVERYONE was wearing newly bought outfits, which is hardly what the original rave was about. The cleanest I've ever seen the Volks which is an outrage in itself.

Keep it squalid

The funniest thing was the massive banner that said "Nu Rave RIP", and the crowd were like 'is that ironic or not?' :?
