Lol ok it must be a producer thing. I see a common theme with that. A lot of producers hate those guys. I can understand why people hate skrillex but Porter Robinson? You think hes too main stream or something? I will say that there fans are a bunch of tools, and are responsible for 99% of the arguments on every dubstep song on youtube. But he still puts on a good show and TONS of people go

Even the name 'Porter Robinson'... it sounds like a name some rich stuck up bitch would give her precious brat of a son before sending him off to an exclusive private kindergarten. The kind of kid that grows up to be a punchable tnuc like Porter Robinson.

Cyrex, does this fall into the category of 'riddim dubstep / chillstep' that you don't like?

If so, fair play to you, but you won't really fit in around here.

whaaaaaaaaa this place doesnt like ukf? what the f...I dont even understand it lol why do you bother putting music in a category. Its just music. The second you label it all your doing is opening the door for haters and arguments. I dont care if its dubstep, brostep, dickstep, whatever. The way I judge music is I listen to it and then make a judgement call. I dont say "is that UKF? sucks" Just enjoy the music. Every genre has there own good and bad.

Ha idc what you say, thats not dubstep. It might be dubstep, but its not dubstep. I may just be getting started with producing, but Ive been listening to EDM and house ever since I was 10 and never listened to anything else. Ive been to every type of show you could think of and seen all there is to see about every scene, and that right there is not dubstep to me. If you have some sort of old school connection to it then that all you. Not putting the song down I just think its caca if your putting it in the dubstep category. Now, if you said thats one of my favorite songs of all time, id be like its not bad. But since you said its dubstep, I say its bad, which relates back to my original point: putting music in categories only starts fights

Nah it doesn't work like that. Sure, the majority of us recognize UKF for the compendium of horrific that it is, but that doesn't mean every tune on there automatically gets hated. A few recent bits on there like Killsonik - Girly, Benga - I Will Never Change and Redlight - Get Out My Head (Joker Remix) have got positive, or at least mixed, responses from DSF. It's not about categories or anything like that. I don't judge a tune cos it's brostep, I'll give it a fair go but most of the time I won't like it in the end. I still get down with some Feed Me, 16BIT and Chasing Shadows.

My suggestion, if you want to learn about what dubstep really is, is that you check out the Youngsta and Geeneus mix CD 'I Love Dubstep'. Seriously, if you're trying to tell us Anti-War Dub by god damn Digital Mystikz isn't dubstep then you're just showing you really know fuck all about dubstep. That's like dubstep 101 right there.

My suggestion, if you want to learn about what dubstep really is, is that you check out the Dubstep Allstars series, particularly volumes 1-5. Seriously, if you're trying to tell us Anti-War Dub by god damn Digital Mystikz isn't dubstep then you're just showing you really know fuck all about dubstep. That's like dubstep 101 right there.
:h: spot on there

and yeah some recent UKF uploads have been decent I reckon, especially if you include the 'UKF Music' channel. Also seem to remember they uploaded a quality Truth tune a while back :W:
