wow wow wow!! This game couldnt encapsulate everything I want from a computer game any more if it tried!! Even down to the fact that I dont really have that much time to play computer games these days, but theres no real sense of "falling behind" with your character or anything, as if anything the safest way to play the game is to just not play it!

Those videos have blown me away, totally looking into this right the hell now...

How much are we talking for everything you need to play this mod? Its Arma 2 and the arrowhead expansion or something isnt it? I guess its quite a lot to fork out for a game I will never actually play lol but at the same time, this mod looks to be the best thing ive ever seen in a computer game! Buying this instead of diablo 3 is definitely a good way of justifying this to myself as well (although, i dont think I was actually going to buy diablo 3...but shhh lol)

oh, side question though, is my computer going to be able to handle it enough for it to be playable on the lowest settings? (dont care about graphics really, just want this style of gameplay...)

An intel core duo E7300 (or however you write it...)
Nvidia 8800 GTS
2gb ram

Im guessing it should run alright enough?

^^^Type in SystemLab requirements in google then select Arma 2 on drop-down. My laptop passed minimum specs and is like 4 years old now.

I've decided, I'm gunna grab this and a headset on Friday :w:

nice one man, think you just saved me a tenner there. Seems the best way for me to do this is to download the free demo of Arma 2, then when ive had a play on that to check if it will actually run at all is to buy operation arrowhead. Then install the free mod files from the dayz site, then spend ages fiddling with it till it works...

If so thats only £15, and I can tootally justify that! Aslong as it will work...

Cant fucking wait. This looks so, so...so so so good. Ruthless ninja bandit crew anyone?

demo version downloading now while im at work...

That website says my laptop isnt good enough but its still runs arma 2:free pretty well with a few of the settings turned down. Its the gameplay that counts anyway in my opinion.

i think what you need to do is, start recording your game play, then re-record an epic voice-over for all enjoy ;-)

fuckin right!! Just got home from work and the demo of arma 2 was downloaded, tested it on crap graphics (well, normal settings at 1024x768...more than enough for me!) and it ran clean as a fecking whistle.

Have operation arrowhead downloading as we speak :D :D

First game ive bought in years, soooo excited. Still anticipating a painful day tomorrow of probably spending all day trying to get it to work and not actually getting to play it before work, but still...so excited for this.

Deadly habit, when I get this all up and running (hoping tomorrow) you want to spend a day failing to find each other on this enormous fucking map? Followed by possibly actually finding each other and one of us panicking and nailing the other one in the head...

euuugh, reaally? I fucking hate talk talk. Apparently got a 10mb connection (although they said we'll only get 7) but the absoloute fastest this connection can ever download anything, from anywhere, is 100kbps. Even thats when its booming, 90 is the standard. And thats even from reputable places, not dodgy torrents or anything. Which means, if im doing my maths right, this 7.5gb game will take 23 hours to download?? For reeeeeal????

Please tell me im being a noob and not accounting for bits vs bytes and itll be 8 times quicker than that or something...please lol

The mod will probably run a bit easier on systems since there's not as much action, vehicles, explosions or people on screen most of the time as there is in actual ARMA... so I'd think you can be a little lenient with specs.

oh talk talk, i hate you so much. so, so much. It is just going to take 24 hours isnt it. Can 100kbps really be sold as broadband?? Jesus, couldnt not recommend them any less...

Like, its 3am on a wednesday. Not exactly peak fucking time is it.
